In late pregnancy, when the fetal head enters the pelvis, it directly squeezes the rectum, which significantly aggravates the symptoms of constipation. If the veins on the posterior abdominal wall are compressed and their blood return is affected, hemorrhoids will form, which may endanger the safety of mother and baby in severe cases.

This is because the uterus gradually enlarges during pregnancy, compressing the muscles of the pelvic floor, compressing the bladder and urethra and gradually losing their reasonable physiological angles. In addition, the muscles and ligaments of the pelvic floor relax after delivery, making it easy to leak urine. This situation is relatively common and usually improves 1 to 2 months after delivery.

Another situation is urge urinary incontinence caused by urinary tract infection in the postpartum period, which is manifested as frequent urination, urgency, pain when urinating and even hematuria. In this case, you should go to the hospital for treatment.

Pay attention to private hygiene

Perform pelvic floor muscle exercises: Contract your anus and clamp your buttocks for 5 seconds, then relax. Repeat this 20 times, 3 to 4 times a day.

Rectus Abdominis Separation

During pregnancy, the uterus gradually enlarges, causing the abdominal wall to expand and stretch. The rectus abdominis muscles on both sides separate from the midline of the abdomen (the location of the linea alba). Under normal circumstances, they will move closer to the midline again after delivery, usually returning to their original position within half a year to a year.

However, if the abdominal wall itself is weak or there are situations such as twins, an enlarged uterus, or multiple births, and it is unable to return to its original position one year after delivery, it is postpartum rectus abdominis separation.

Self-test method

When doing sit-ups while lying flat on your back, there is a deep longitudinal groove between the rectus abdominis on both sides. Generally, if it is more than 3 fingers, it is obvious rectus abdominis separation.

Pregnancy-lactation osteoporosis (PLO)

During pregnancy or lactation, the mother's body is affected by low estrogen, prolactin, parathyroid hormone, etc. Calcium is transferred from the mother to the fetus or baby, the mother loses bone mass, the fine structure of the bone tissue changes, and osteoporosis occurs, causing bone pain and even fractures.
