Yellow rainstorm warning continues! Heavy rains are expected in parts of Guangdong, Fujian and other places. Please be careful to prevent disastrous weather.

The Central Meteorological Observatory continued to issue a yellow rainstorm warning at 10:00 on June 6:

It is expected that from 14:00 on June 6 to 14:00 on June 7, parts of southern Hunan, southern Jiangxi, southern and eastern Guangxi, Guangdong, central and southern Fujian, western Taiwan Island, central and western Yunnan, and southern Liaoning will experience heavy to torrential rain, of which parts of central and eastern Guangdong will experience torrential rain (100-180 mm). Some of the above-mentioned areas will be accompanied by short-term heavy rainfall (maximum hourly rainfall of 30-60 mm, exceeding 80 mm in some places), and strong convective weather such as thunderstorms and gales in some places.

One day left to the college entrance examination, what will the weather be like this year?

During this year's college entrance examination (June 7 to 10), my country will present a "rainy, sunny and rainy" weather pattern from north to south, with uneven precipitation distribution. Affected by the cold vortex, thunderstorms will be more frequent in Northeast China and North China during the college entrance examination; precipitation will be relatively scarce in some areas such as Huanghuai, Jianghuai and Jiangnan, while the temperature will be relatively high; and the most precipitation-intensive areas will be concentrated in South China and Southwest China, and local areas will also be accompanied by strong convective weather.

Candidates in relevant areas need to pay close attention to the upcoming forecasts and warning information, and prepare rainproof equipment such as umbrellas, raincoats, and rain boots; when going to the exam, they need to plan the route in advance and reserve sufficient time to avoid delaying the exam.

Tips for preparing for rainstorms

Safety accidents are prone to occur during rainstorms, so it is crucial to take precautions in advance. If you really need to travel, you should take the following precautions:

pedestrian

If you see a vortex fountain on the road, be careful to avoid it, because it may be a sewer and the manhole cover has been washed open by water.

When walking, be careful to make sure that there is flat ground ahead and try to move forward. You can use tools to explore the way, such as inserting a wooden stick or a long-handled umbrella upright into the water to explore the way.

It is best to travel together on rainy days. If there are two people, one can explore the way ahead while the other holds the front tight.

During heavy rain, you must stay away from electrical equipment, do not stay or take shelter under trees or large billboards close to power lines, and do not get close to overhead power lines and transformers. If you feel numbness under your feet while wading through water, stop and step back immediately.

Do not hold metal objects or make phone calls outdoors to prevent lightning strikes; stay away from low-lying areas, rivers, and canals to avoid danger from rising water levels.

vehicle

Ensure a clear field of vision, turn on the wipers in time, adjust the wiper speed according to the amount of rain, and turn on the low beam and fog lights in time.

Hold the steering wheel with both hands in a balanced manner, keep driving straight and at a low speed.

When passing a flooded road, drive straight through it at a low speed and do not stop to change gears or make sudden turns.

Slow down and don't rush to compete with pedestrians and cyclists.

Do not stay in low-lying areas. If you encounter a vehicle stall or cannot drive normally while driving a motor vehicle, you should observe the surface runoff. If the runoff is rapidly converging, you should decisively abandon the vehicle and evacuate to a safe place with higher terrain first. Wait until the rain stops before moving the vehicle.

What are the self-rescue equipment for heavy rain?

In case of floods, try to prepare emergency items such as food, drinking water, flashlights, first aid medicines, etc. Residents living in areas prone to mountain torrents and floods should always have wireless equipment, such as a radio, to receive information from the outside world as soon as possible.

In addition to the above risk avoidance guidelines, it is important to note that you should not panic when encountering an emergency. You should also be aware of rescue channels in a timely manner. Self-help + seeking help is the double insurance for safe risk avoidance.
