There will be heavy rain in northern Guangdong and other places today

On June 18, Guangdong experienced widespread heavy rainfall, with particularly heavy rainstorms in northern Guangdong and the Pearl River Delta. Currently, Guangdong is experiencing the strongest "Dragon Boat Water" in nearly 10 years, with heavy rains continuing for several days. The meteorological risk of floods in some areas is extremely high. Local authorities need to pay attention to prevention work, and the public needs to pay attention to warning and forecast information and pay attention to travel safety.

Heavy rain in central and southern Zhejiang today and tomorrow

There may be heavy rain in some areas

In the next few days, Zhejiang will enter a new round of concentrated heavy rainfall! It is expected that today and tomorrow (June 18th to 19th), most areas of Zhejiang will be cloudy and rainy, with particularly strong rain in the central and southern regions, and torrential rain may occur in some areas.

From today to the beginning of next week, heavy rainfall will continue for a long time. Guangxi, Guangdong, Fujian, Jiangxi, Hunan and other places are the core areas of rainfall. It is necessary to be vigilant about the secondary disasters that may be caused by the superposition of rainfall. Starting from the 22nd, the weather in most parts of the south will change, the rain belt will move northward, and the rainfall in southern China will be significantly weakened.

Some of the above-mentioned areas will be accompanied by short-term heavy rainfall (maximum hourly rainfall is 20 to 50 mm, and may exceed 60 mm in some local areas), and local strong convective weather such as thunderstorms and strong winds.

Experts warned that from the 18th to the 21st, heavy rainfall will continue in South China, and the eastern section of the main rain belt will move northward to the middle and lower reaches of the Yangtze River. Attention should be paid to the risks of basin-wide floods in the Pearl River Basin and small and medium-sized rivers. Key cities and the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area need to pay attention to the risks of urban waterlogging, and pay attention to the adverse effects of continued heavy rainfall and local severe convective weather on transportation.
