China Science and Technology News Network, February 8 (Jin Xi) On February 6, local time, Turkey experienced multiple earthquakes, including two 7.8-magnitude earthquakes, causing heavy casualties and property losses. After the earthquake, several Chinese rescue teams, carrying multiple search and rescue dogs and professional rescue equipment, went to the earthquake-stricken areas in Turkey to carry out international rescue. To participate in international rescue, one must first meet a basic prerequisite - a medium or heavy rescue team certified by the United Nations. Currently, China has two international rescue teams, namely the "China Rescue Team" and the "China International Rescue Team", both of which are world-class heavy rescue teams certified by relevant United Nations agencies. In addition to national rescue forces, social rescue forces can also provide rescue services through other channels such as the Red Cross and Red Crescent Society. The first Chinese rescue force to arrive in Turkey, the "Ram Rescue Team", is a social rescue force. Rescue teams generally consist of four parts, namely, team leader and safety officer, liaison officer, planner and other management and organization personnel, search and rescue team members, medical team members and logistics support personnel. Search and rescue personnel usually wear bright red or yellow uniforms with reflective strips, which can warn rescue machinery and prevent themselves from being hurt, and also facilitate overall observation of personnel activities and rescue search. The equipment carried by the rescue team mainly includes acoustic life detectors, photoelectric detectors, search and rescue dogs and other search equipment, rescue equipment, communication equipment and lighting equipment. In addition, logistical support equipment must be prepared to protect both the survivors and the members of the rescue team. In addition to relevant rescue knowledge, rescue team members also need to have a relatively broad knowledge base and understand the local customs and practices. Therefore, interpersonal relationships are also an important lesson in international rescue training, such as how to use words when speaking, whether to use the left hand or the right hand, etc. In addition, relevant personnel from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs or the local embassy will also give appropriate instructions to the rescue team members, telling them which local customs and habits they need to respect, so as to avoid doing bad things with good intentions. |
