China's first satellite was successfully launched!

On the evening of February 23, the Long March 3B carrier rocket, developed by the China Academy of Launch Vehicle Technology under the China Aerospace Science and Technology Corporation, ignited and launched from the Xichang Satellite Launch Center, successfully sending the ChinaSat-26 satellite into its predetermined orbit. The launch mission was a complete success, which means that safe, reliable and wider-coverage information transmission methods will be extended to remote areas.

At 19:49 on February 23, my country launched the ChinaSat-26 satellite into space using the Long March 3B carrier rocket at the Xichang Satellite Launch Center. The ChinaSat-26 satellite launched this time is my country's first high-throughput satellite with a capacity of over 100 Gbps. The satellite will be positioned at 125 degrees east longitude. After delivery, the satellite will be operated and managed by China Satellite Communications Co., Ltd. of China Aerospace Science and Technology Corporation.

ChinaSat-26 uses the enhanced satellite platform of Dongfanghong-4 independently developed by my country. The satellite is an important national space infrastructure and a new generation of high-throughput communication satellite that meets the requirements of satellite Internet and communication transmission.

ChinaSat-26 will work together with China Satcom's existing ChinaSat-16 and ChinaSat-19 high-throughput satellites to provide users with high-speed private network communications and satellite Internet access services, and provide remote areas with a safe, reliable and wider-coverage means of information transmission, further narrowing the urban and rural "digital divide" and effectively meeting the huge demand for broadband communications during air travel and long-distance voyages. While building a solid basic network capability for the development of the country's digital economy, it also provides a new business model for sustainable development for satellite Internet services.

The Long March 3B carrier rocket that carried out this launch mission is a member of the Long March 3A series of carrier rockets. It is mainly used to launch geosynchronous transfer orbit satellites, and can also launch multiple satellites with one rocket or launch satellites in other orbits.

Zhang Tao, deputy chief designer of the Long March 3A series of launch vehicles, introduced that this rocket has undergone a number of technical improvements to improve launch efficiency and reliability.
