Typhoon Tali is about to land! How should we defend and respond?

At present, this year's No. 4 typhoon "Tali" is approaching the coast of South China. It is expected to make landfall on the coast from Dianbai, Guangdong to Wenchang, Hainan on the night of the 17th (typhoon level or strong typhoon level), and will become the first typhoon to land in China this year.

This morning (July 17), the Central Meteorological Observatory continued to issue an orange typhoon warning. Under its influence, strong winds and heavy rains will be set off in the coastal areas of southern my country, including heavy rains in parts of southern Guangdong, southern Guangxi, Hainan Island, and some areas with extremely heavy rains.

At present, Guangdong, Hainan, Guangxi and other areas significantly affected by the typhoon have initiated relevant emergency responses or upgraded the emergency response levels to actively respond to the impact of the typhoon.

Typhoons are a type of highly destructive weather system that is sudden and destructive, and often occurs in summer and autumn. The direct disasters usually caused by typhoons are caused by three aspects: strong winds, heavy rains, and storm surges.

Before the typhoon

How should we prevent it?

When a typhoon passes through, it will seriously affect our daily lives and even threaten people’s lives. How can we avoid risks?

1. Do not stay in the danger zone

When a typhoon hits, do not stay near glass doors and windows, shabby huts, temporary sheds, or under tall buildings such as billboards and neon lights. In addition, try to avoid walking on embankments and bridges near rivers, lakes, and seas to avoid being blown down by the wind or falling into the water.

2. Units resist typhoons and avoid dangers

When staying at work to resist the typhoon, you must be vigilant, protect the safety of public property, and even more so consider personal safety. Prepare emergency supplies such as sandbags, flashlights, raincoats, rain boots, tarpaulins, steel wires, and dry food in advance, and do a good job of flood prevention and waterproofing in the unit in advance. When a typhoon comes, try to stay in a safe place, and turn off the power supply in time when you find danger to prevent accidents.

Since typhoons are generated at sea and affect coastal and even inland areas when they make landfall, defense against typhoon meteorological disasters is also the most complex.

People in different industries have different measures to deal with typhoons. Let’s take a look.

Please be careful!
