On October 31, my country's floating wind-fishery integration project completed the installation of all projects at the offshore wind farm located on Nanri Island, Putian, Fujian. This is the world's first floating wind-fishery integration project. Hydropower generation and underwater fish farming The platform of this project is a "three-column semi-submersible" platform. On the platform, there is an offshore wind turbine with a power of 4 megawatts and a lightweight and flexible photovoltaic module. The regular hexagonal area in the middle of the platform is the breeding area. After the project is put into use, it will be possible to produce clean electricity using wind power technology while breeding fish and seafood, thus realizing the integration of wind, light and fish. The platform of this project is mainly composed of two parts: floating wind turbines and aquaculture cages . Specifically, there are floating platforms, wind turbines with a power of up to 4 megawatts, and mooring anchor systems. The floating platform is a "three-column semi-submersible" structure with an overall regular triangular prism shape. The side length between the columns can reach 70 meters, and the column height is 28 meters. The water volume for farming fish and seafood is about 10,000 cubic meters, which can be used to farm medium-sized fish fry (over 1 year old). It is reported that after the project is completed and put into operation, it will be able to generate 16 million kilowatt-hours of electricity per year, which can provide electricity for more than 6,000 ordinary households for one year . The benefits of floating on water Offshore wind power is not uncommon, but traditional offshore wind power is generally fixed on the seabed, which requires large-scale reinforced concrete foundations. Floating wind turbines use the principle of buoyancy to float on the sea. This design makes it easier to deploy floating wind turbines in deep seas. In addition, this floating wind turbine has a secret weapon, which is the "electric cable". The direction and position can be adjusted through the electric cable to better adapt to different wind directions and ocean current environments, thereby obtaining more wind energy. In addition, from the broader perspective of offshore wind power, building wind power projects at sea also overcomes the shortcomings of land-based wind power, such as occupying land resources and being unfavorable to people's production and life. In general, the floating wind-fishing integration project has not only broken through the technical bottleneck of offshore wind power development in the deep sea, but also promoted the development of marine aquaculture in the deep sea, creating a new model of integration of offshore floating wind turbines and fishery aquaculture.
