At present, the connection between Beidou and forest resource protection is becoming increasingly close. Beidou-based forestry ecological construction and other projects have attracted much attention. With the help of the Beidou system's unique positioning navigation and short message communication functions, the relevant forestry resource information services are organically integrated. While realizing basic navigation functions such as field patrol, animal tracking, airborne navigation, and fire tracking and monitoring, it also plays an important role in forest fire emergency data collection and emergency communications.

Beidou satellite navigation, big data, cloud computing, aerospace, artificial intelligence... a series of high-tech cross-border integration of forestry and grassland has brought about rapid changes in the development of the industry and has become the core competitiveness to promote the high-quality development of forestry and grassland.

Early warning monitoring also plays an important supporting role in forest and grassland fire prevention and control. It is understood that on the basis of consolidating and strengthening traditional monitoring methods such as aerial patrols and ground inspections, relying on Beidou's high-precision positioning capabilities, the route is planned for drone inspections. At the same time, combined with AI recognition capabilities, it can achieve rapid identification of smoke, fire, and people. The national monitoring can be carried out as short as every 30 minutes, and the development of the fire can be monitored in real time, providing corresponding decision-making basis for forest fire prevention command and dispatch, ensuring that the initial fire is discovered in time, and gaining the initiative for rapid disposal.

In the forest farms and forest areas, forest rangers and forest and grassland fire prevention grid members patrol the mountains with Beidou patrol handheld terminals, query patrol tracks in real time, achieve precise patrols, and greatly increase work efficiency. The "Beidou Patrol Terminal" can help forest rangers accurately locate. In addition to accurate positioning, the "Beidou Patrol Terminal" can also take photos of animals and plants, and transmit the measured plant data back to the command center anytime and anywhere. At present, relying on advanced equipment such as the Beidou navigation system, the management and protection of Shennongjia forest resources has been fully informatized, and forest resources are also protected around the clock.

Beidou satellite remote sensing technology has a wide range of applications in the forestry field, not just forest fire prevention and forest patrol. Beidou remote sensing can also realize the time-series monitoring of major pest and disease breeding areas and key damage areas of agriculture, forestry and grassland, as well as the dynamic prediction of pest and disease migration and diffusion paths and potential damage areas. It produces time-series pest and disease monitoring and prediction spatial information products for the global, intercontinental, national and typical regions, and realizes the demonstration and application of timely monitoring and early prediction technology of vegetation pests and diseases at multiple scales, long time series and large ranges, and promotes the multidisciplinary integration and industrialization process of vegetation ecosystem protection.
