After being bitten by a rat, the woman bit the rat back. Netizens said: What a ruthless person!

According to Yanzhao Metropolis Daily, on December 21, a woman in Wuxi, Jiangsu said that she was accidentally bitten on the hand by a rat, and then she bit the rat's head in revenge.

The person involved said that he went to the hospital afterwards, got an injection, and is currently fine.

The woman posted a medical record from the Wuxi Xishan People's Hospital, which showed that she was 18 years old, had her right hand bitten by a rat, and bit the rat back. She also reported a wound at the corner of her lip and requested rabies and tetanus treatment. The time was 23:12 on December 21.

On December 22, the roommate of the victim said that the mouse ran into the house and was caught by the woman. The mouse bit her. The woman felt provoked and bit the mouse's head, leaving two tooth marks. Afterwards, the woman went to the hospital, and the doctor said that he had never seen such a case in his career and gave her tetanus and rabies vaccines.

Regarding the woman’s behavior, some netizens believe that this is an instinctive self-protection and self-defense reaction when a person encounters danger or harm.

Some netizens also think that the woman is a ruthless person...

According to Changchun Center for Disease Control, in theory, rats as mammals can be infected and spread the rabies virus . However, due to the small size of common rats, it is almost impossible for them to survive if bitten by a rabid dog or large animal . Therefore, the risk of rats spreading rabies is negligible, and rabies has not been found to be transmitted between rats in nature.

More than 99% of human rabies is transmitted by dogs, followed by cats, bats and other animals. So far, there have been no reported cases of rats transmitting rabies to humans. Therefore, being bitten by a rat is only theoretically possible to be infected with rabies, but it has never actually happened, so there is no need to get a rabies vaccine.

Humans are infected with hemorrhagic fever mainly because of contact or inhalation of mouse secretions containing the virus. So far, no cases of infection by mouse bites have been heard . Therefore, it cannot be assumed that a hemorrhagic fever vaccine is required if a mouse bite occurs.

Hemorrhagic fever generally has an incubation period of 7 to 14 days from infection to onset; it takes about two weeks for the hemorrhagic fever vaccine to produce antibodies from vaccination. Therefore, it is difficult to prevent and treat hemorrhagic fever by injecting the hemorrhagic fever vaccine after infection. The correct approach should be to go to the hospital in time to treat the wound in a standardized manner, observe for two weeks, and if fever or cold symptoms occur, go to the hospital in time to see a doctor, and do your best to move the treatment threshold forward .
