Chang'e 6 will head to the moon in early May!

Reporters learned from the National Space Administration that on the 27th, after the Chang'e-6 probe and the Long March 5 Yao-8 carrier rocket completed relevant work in the technical area at the Wenchang Space Launch Center in China, the spacecraft and rocket combination was vertically transferred to the launch area and is scheduled to be launched at an appropriate time in early May.

After the Chang'e-6 probe and the Long March 5 Yao-8 carrier rocket arrived at the launch site in January and March respectively, they successively completed various preparatory work including final assembly and testing.

On April 27, the mobile launch platform carrying the Long March 5 Yao-8 carrier rocket slowly and safely transferred the rocket-vessel combination from the vertical test plant to the launch area. In the future, various functional inspections, joint tests, and propellant filling will be carried out as planned.

The Chang'e-6 mission will break through key technologies such as lunar retrograde orbit design and control, lunar far side intelligent sampling, and lunar far side takeoff and ascent, implement automatic sampling and return from the lunar far side, and carry out scientific exploration of the landing area and international cooperation. This will also be the first time that humans have carried out sampling on the lunar far side.
