Can the human body be directly exposed to space?

With the development of aerospace technology, China's manned space technology has also made major breakthroughs. The Shenzhou series of manned spacecraft have successfully completed many manned flight missions.

So the question from netizens is, will everyone be able to go to space in the future? Can we humans be directly exposed to space?

01

Can humans be directly exposed to space?

For the human body to be directly exposed to space without being harmed, a series of extremely harsh conditions must be met, which are currently impossible to achieve.

Currently, we must wear a space suit when we are in space. Therefore, the functions or requirements of a space suit must be requirements that our own body must meet. Taking wiki as an example, let's see what upgrades our body needs.

02

What conditions need to be met?

1 A stable internal pressure

Since the atmospheric pressure in space is completely different from that on Earth, solving the pressure problem is our first priority. In fact, deep-sea activities also face similar problems. Otherwise, we will be like deep-sea fish coming directly to shore, boom...

2. Changes in breathing pattern

Since we breathe air on Earth, the composition of air is 78% nitrogen, 21% oxygen and the rest. The basic composition in space is hydrogen, so we must change from oxygen respiration to hydrogen respiration, which is the biggest requirement for our future.

But this is too difficult in evolution, because we have not gone through this stage, and we cannot imagine how hydrogen can provide energy to our body. Therefore, it is better for us to change to anaerobic respiration, which allows us not to rely on oxygen.

3 Temperature regulation

Due to the lack of atmospheric protection in the universe, the temperature in the universe varies greatly (the temperature difference between day and night on the moon can be as high as 300°C, from -183 to 127°C, and the atmosphere protects the earth very well so that the temperature does not fluctuate too much). Therefore, our bodies must be able to adapt to very drastic temperature changes, from scalding in hot water to throwing in the refrigerator, changing at any time without exceeding the rules.

4. Adapting to zero gravity

Living in the universe for a long time, due to the lack of gravity, our bodies will be completely deformed

5. Resistant to ultraviolet radiation, particle radiation, and cosmic rays (space radiation)

Still, due to the lack of atmospheric protection, we have to face the huge damage of these rays.

6. Communicate using light or radio waves

Since the medium in space is thin and close to a vacuum, we need a new communication mode, and light waves or radio waves are a better mode.
