"Popularizing Science to Strengthen the Country" visits Liuzhou Industrial Museum to explore the industrial memory of building a strong country What did the first generation of wheel loaders in New China look like? Where did the first generation of small mobile gasoline engines in New China appear? On the occasion of the 75th anniversary of the founding of New China, the Science Popularization Department of the China Association for Science and Technology, together with Xinhuanet, relevant associations, societies, central enterprises, state-owned enterprises, scientific research institutes, etc., reviewed the glorious journey of 75 years, invited academicians and experts to talk about the achievements in building a strong manufacturing country, and went deep into the country to find vivid practical stories on the front line of building a strong country. With the theme of "Science Popularization Talks about a Strong Country", it presents the powerful momentum of scientific and technological innovation in the construction of a strong country, and contributes to accelerating the realization of high-level scientific and technological self-reliance. Recently, with the support of the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region Association for Science and Technology and the Beijing Science and Technology Journalists and Editors Association, a research team visited the Liuzhou Industrial Museum to explore the history that carries the heavy industrial memory and record the moving story of my country's progress from a manufacturing power to a manufacturing powerhouse. According to Zhuang Yan, deputy director of Liuzhou Industrial Museum, Liuzhou Industrial Museum was completed and opened on May 1, 2012. It is the first comprehensive industrial museum in China. It exhibits more than 34,000 industrial cultural relics of various types, including more than 6,000 industrial physical cultural relics. These industrial cultural relics fully demonstrate the glorious history of Liuzhou and even China's industry for a hundred years. It is one of the portrayals of New China's industry from scratch, from weak to strong, and from small to large. According to Zhuang Yan, Liuzhou's industry developed very rapidly in the 1950s and 1960s, and it independently developed a number of representative industrial products of New China, including the first generation of wheel loaders and the first generation of small portable gasoline engines in New China. These were all independently developed in Liuzhou and are now collected by the Liuzhou Industrial Museum as precious industrial relics. In the Liuzhou Industrial Museum, a bright yellow wheel loader quietly lies in a corner, with four replaced tires with "iron patches" leaning against it. This wheel loader is the first generation of wheel loader in New China independently developed by Liuzhou Engineering Machinery Factory in 1966. It was found in a mine in Xuzhou before the opening of the Liuzhou Industrial Museum, and it was still working at that time. This is the first wheel loader in my country that has passed the appraisal and is designated as a model of China Engineering Series Loader. "From the first generation of wheel loaders to a series of products sold at home and abroad, and then to the R&D technology level ranking among the first echelon of the global engineering machinery industry, Liuzhou industry has never stopped technological innovation and quality improvement, leading the technological changes and market trends in the engineering machinery industry." Zhuang Yan said. There is also a small green gasoline engine in the Liuzhou Industrial Museum. It was the first generation of small gasoline engines in New China independently developed by Liuzhou in 1953. Zhuang Yan introduced that this gasoline engine is a four-horsepower generator, which was used to generate electricity in mountain outposts and islands at that time. In the 1980s, some units and schools also used this small gasoline engine when showing movies. The successful development of this gasoline engine also made Liuzhou officially enter the sequence of developing high-tech internal combustion engines. In Liuzhou Industrial Museum, there is also the first charcoal car in Guangxi designed and developed by Liuzhou Machinery Factory. It was designed and developed by Liuzhou Machinery Factory in 1933. This car does not burn oil, but uses charcoal made from the most common wood in the mountainous areas of Guangxi as fuel. It is a steam-powered car. After the car was developed, it was mainly used as a means of transportation in this city, and it was used as a bus. It was this car that opened the first page of Liuzhou's self-designed and manufactured cars. According to Zhuang Yan, while displaying the industrial history, the Liuzhou Industrial Museum also displays the ecological environment protection and development of Liuzhou, so that more young people can participate in the protection of industrial cultural relics, the promotion of industrial culture, the promotion of the spirit of craftsmanship and the protection of the ecological environment. Starting from the children, it will inherit the industrial culture, protect industrial cultural relics and inherit the spirit of craftsmanship. As a national science education base, Liuzhou Industrial Museum has developed nearly 100 science education and research education courses to allow more young people to understand the concept of building a manufacturing power from this window of industrial history and culture.
