Every development of science and technology will bring us a better future. In recent years, the concept of green development has gradually gained popularity. Recently, CRRC released a series of new energy locomotives to the world for the first time, providing a "Chinese solution" for the green and low-carbon development of rail transit equipment. Among them, the three new energy locomotives developed by CRRC Dalian Locomotive and Rolling Stock Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as "CRRC Dalian Company") are particularly eye-catching.

From steam to internal combustion, and then from electricity to new energy, every step in the development of railway locomotive equipment is a transformation and upgrading, and "Dalian Locomotive" is also forging ahead on the road of scientific and technological innovation.

CRRC Dalian has undertaken relevant projects on the development of new energy locomotives, and has joined forces with enterprises and universities to jointly develop locomotive products using "internal combustion engine + power battery", "power battery" and "hydrogen fuel cell" as power sources, accelerating the elimination and renewal of old railway diesel locomotives, and promoting the development of rail transit equipment towards high-end, intelligent and green development.

The serialized new energy locomotives are developed around the three core features of "high-end, intelligent, and green", forming five core competitiveness of green and low-carbon, excellent quality, intelligent transportation, strong performance, and modular design. Zhao Gang, deputy general manager and chief engineer of CRRC Dalian Locomotive and Rolling Stock Co., Ltd., introduced: "We are conducting in-depth research on cutting-edge technology for system integration of serialized new energy locomotive products, and strive to form core technologies covering core technologies, key equipment, integrated applications, standards and specifications, etc."

During the development process, CRRC Dalian adhered to the concept of green development of railway equipment, focused on customer needs, deeply connected with the market, and was committed to forming multiple sets of configuration products and creating series products. At the same time, CRRC Dalian also focused on the simplified design of locomotive structure to improve the market adaptability and competitiveness of products. Sun Chuanqing, deputy general manager of CRRC Dalian Off-Road Business Unit, said: "We have conducted in-depth research on user application scenarios many times to actively understand market trends and customer needs. At the same time, we also accurately judged the new challenges in locomotive manufacturing cycle, cost and quality control to ensure that the locomotive products delivered to users have high-quality operation capabilities."

CRRC Dalian Company, together with Ziyang Company and Qishuyan Company, jointly carried out the design of power batteries. Faced with the complexity of battery performance parameter design, Zhao Ruishan, the main designer of new energy power batteries, led the team to successfully find the balance point of parameter design, ensuring the optimization and stability of battery performance. In addition, he also keenly discovered the key impact of equipment layout on the overall performance of the locomotive, and led the team to deeply explore the advantages and disadvantages of different solutions and jointly explore the best layout solution.

During the final assembly process, in order to ensure smooth production scheduling, Chen Bingxu, the production dispatcher of the locomotive branch, led the Youth League branch to formulate a 24-hour shift system. They always insisted on not leaving any problems behind or postponing them. If there were any problems, the technical and production supervisors responsible for the task would rush to the site to solve them as soon as possible. At the same time, they also played the material status of each model on the electronic display screen to ensure that the material completeness rate always remained above 90%.

CRRC Dalian has demonstrated high-level capabilities, high-standard manufacturing and the responsibility of actively serving the national strategy in the research and development, manufacturing and service of new energy locomotives. They are anchored in CRRC's "dual tracks and dual clusters" industrial structure, accelerating the cultivation of new quality productivity and improving the level of high-end, intelligent and green equipment.
