Salute to Teacher's Day | With high-tech equipment entering the classroom, teachers are becoming more and more fashionable!

Today is Teacher's Day. When you think back to your school days, what is the first image that comes to your mind? Is it the plain classroom and the old desk?

Or the carefully wrapped book cover and the teacher’s silhouette at the back door? Or the teacher’s pleasant voice in the spacious and bright classroom? Which classroom does your youth belong to?

It is not difficult to find that our lives are getting better and the teaching environment is changing with each passing day. Take the "blackboard", which is the most indispensable tool for teachers in class, for example, it has also been quietly changing over the years.

The first real blackboard was invented by an educator in the 18th century. The principal of this middle school used the blackboard and colored chalk he invented to teach geography to his students.

From then on, blackboards crossed the ocean and entered the classroom. From simple wooden blackboards to reflective cement blackboards, fragile frosted glass blackboards, to new composite material blackboards, the first generation of blackboards have been an indispensable "assistant" for teachers in the past century.

A three-foot podium, a blackboard, a piece of chalk, and a teacher covered in a layer of white chalk dust were the most distinctive features of the classroom at that time.

In my memory, the teacher always seemed to have a piece of chalk in his hand. He would either hold a book in his left hand and write on the blackboard with chalk in his right hand, standing in front of the blackboard, or he would wipe the blackboard with his back turned, shrouded in a mushroom cloud of dust.

In class, teachers repeatedly erase and write while explaining, and chalk dust can easily be "inhaled" into the body through the mouth. Chalk dust particles are large and have a strong ability to absorb bacteria. A large amount of chalk dust damages the teachers' lung tissue and causes inflammation related to the respiratory system. Chalk dust is also the main cause of upper respiratory tract diseases such as dry rhinitis.

As time goes by, the teachers at that time gradually get older, and some of the students at that time also become teachers. The classroom is still the same classroom, but there are some changes...

Chalk dust not only affects the classroom environment, but also causes serious damage to teachers' health. Dust-free chalk came into being.

In fact, dust-free chalk has already appeared in the 1970s. In the 1980s, a math teacher who had been in the profession for nearly 40 years described dust-free chalk like this: "I often have to change chalk more than 20 times every four classes. My head, hands, handouts, schoolbag, sleeves, and pants are all covered with white chalk. The area under the podium is even more covered with chalk heads and chalk dust. But there is a chalk box on the podium, and it is clearly written with 'dust-free chalk'."

The so-called dust-free chalk is ordinary chalk with adhesives (grease or polyol substances) and fillers added to it, so that the chalk dust is not easy to fly away. But as the old teacher said, this kind of chalk is not effective in reducing dust pollution, and it is not as convenient to use as ordinary chalk. After the appearance of dust-free chalk, its usage rate has been limited.

At that time, there was a new device in the classroom - the "first generation" projector (also called slide projector) that math and physics teachers liked to use, which played the role of blackboard and reduced the time teachers spent using chalk. The projector was originally a slide projector invented by a church priest, which used the principle of reflecting light with lenses and mirrors to reflect a series of pictures on the wall.

Do you still remember the teacher holding a stack of plastic sheets full of knowledge, placing them under the projector light, and the contents of the plastic sheets appeared on the white screen? This first generation of projectors allowed teachers to temporarily get rid of chalk dust.

Electronic screens make teachers more and more "trendy"

The classroom now seems completely different from what I remember.

Most schools have popularized whiteboards, "electronic whiteboards (electronic display screens embedded in blackboards) and other equipment. Some schools have also begun to use electronic touch screens (technically speaking, electronic interactive whiteboards, which can be written directly on the screen with hands, equivalent to an enlarged iPad), monitoring equipment...

The interactive electronic whiteboard was first invented by a Canadian company in 1991. Around 2005, China began to develop electronic whiteboards. Over the past few years, many technical difficulties have been overcome. From the initial high cost and difficulty in using, to the current interactive electronic whiteboards, 100% of the technology and production are controlled by domestic manufacturers.

It can be said that this type of electronic interactive whiteboard, which is now commonly used in classrooms, can only be manufactured in China! Please express your pride in the comments!

Some schools even have smart classrooms equipped with smart equipment such as VR glasses. These high-tech devices make classes more efficient and healthier for teachers.

This year, due to the epidemic, these modern technical means have become particularly important in teaching.

Because of the Internet, during the half year of home classes, teachers have become anchors. They have transformed from "back window bosses" to "live broadcast experts", providing a lot of sources of joy for everyone: no microphones during class, face-to-face shots with level 10 beauty filters, and Li Jiaqi-style selling of questions...

The teacher who was a bit serious in class turned out to be so cute!

Getting out of the classroom, extracurricular learning is also cool

Learning knowledge has never been limited to the classroom. Many schools have begun to extend their courses beyond the classroom, allowing students to experience the written knowledge more vividly through social practice and other forms.

For example, in the China Science and Technology Museum, students can truly feel the charm of science by personally operating the exhibits. At the same time, there are science classes in the museum, and doing small scientific experiments with the teachers will make children curious about science.

Look! There are so many forms of experience in the science and technology museum, which brings different learning experiences to children and is a good extracurricular "helper" for teachers!

Interactive Session

No matter how technology advances, the role of teachers in teaching remains irreplaceable. As the saying goes, teaching by words and deeds, a good teacher teaches students not only knowledge, but more importantly, helps students grow more healthily.

Whether you have been working for many years or are still on campus, you must have met many teachers with different personalities and teaching methods. On this festival that belongs to them, please sincerely express your gratitude to the teachers who have guided you. You can also leave a message to tell us [the most impressive teacher]. Do you still remember who he is?
