Starting today (18th), the area north of the Yangtze River will experience the strongest cold front since the beginning of autumn this year, with temperatures dropping by more than 10°C in many places and even more than 14°C in some places. The Central Meteorological Observatory predicts that from the 18th to the 19th, the temperature in parts of the eastern part of Northwest China, Northeast China, central and eastern North China, eastern Huanghuai, Jianghuai, eastern Jianghan, and northeastern Jiangnan will drop by 8-10℃, and in parts of northern and eastern North China, central and southern Northeast China, etc. will drop by 10-12℃, and in some local areas it will be above 14℃.

From the 19th to the 20th, the lowest temperature in most parts of the north will drop to single digits, and the 0°C line will reach the central part of North China. For example, the lowest temperature in Beijing, Tianjin, Shijiazhuang, and Zhengzhou will be around 5°C on the 20th, and the lowest temperature in Taiyuan will be only around 1°C. By this Sunday (20th), the 0°C line will advance to the central Inner Mongolia to the northern part of Hebei.

The Central Meteorological Observatory continued to issue a yellow warning for high winds at 6:00 on the 18th: It is expected that from 8:00 on the 18th to 8:00 on the 19th, there will be high winds of 5~6 and gusts of 7~8 in most parts of Inner Mongolia, western Heilongjiang, most of Liaoning, eastern Xinjiang, Hexi of Gansu, northeastern Hebei, most of Tianjin, most of Shandong, northern Jiangsu and other places. Among them, the gusts in parts of western and eastern Inner Mongolia, southern Liaoning, Shandong Peninsula and other places may reach 8~9.

It is expected that a cold wave will occur in Beijing from the 18th to the 20th, with the minimum temperature dropping by more than 10°C. The minimum temperature in the plain area will drop to around 3°C at night on the 19th and 20th; gusts may reach around Level 7 from the afternoon to night on the 18th.

Hebei issues blue warning for cold wave

It is expected that the minimum temperature in most parts of Hebei Province will drop significantly from the morning of the 19th to the 20th, with a drop of 10-12℃ in Shijiazhuang, Cangzhou and the areas to the north, and a drop of 13-14℃ in some areas; other areas will drop by 7-9℃. On the morning of the 20th, the minimum temperature in Shijiazhuang, Cangzhou and the areas to the north will drop to -10-4℃, among which the Bashang area will drop to -10--6℃.

Inner Mongolia issues blue warning for cold wave

It is expected that within 48 hours, the lowest temperature in southern Bayannur City, Inner Mongolia, central and northern Ordos City, Baotou City, Hohhot City, Ulanqab City, Xilinguole League, southern Chifeng City, most of Tongliao City, and southern Xing'an League will drop by more than 8°C, and the lowest temperature will be less than or equal to 4°C.

Affected by strong cold air, cold wave weather is expected to occur in Tianjin from the 18th to the 20th, with the lowest temperature dropping by 8-10℃. The lowest temperature in the northern region will be 1-2℃ on the morning of the 19th and 20th, and 3-5℃ in other areas. This round of rainfall process enters the strongest period, and there will be large-scale precipitation in the central and eastern parts . <br /> Due to the peak of both cold and warm air currents on the 17th, a low vortex shear system was formed. Under its influence, the precipitation entered the strongest period from the night of the 17th to the morning of the 18th. The Central Meteorological Observatory predicts that from 20:00 on the 17th to 20:00 on the 18th, there will be heavy rain in Shandong, eastern Henan, northern Jiangsu, northern Anhui, eastern Hubei, central and northern Hunan, and northern Guangxi. Among them, there will be heavy rain in parts of central and eastern Shandong and northeastern Hunan, and there will be heavy rain in parts of Shandong Peninsula, with hourly rainfall of 20-40 mm, and more than 40 mm in some parts. In addition, there will be moderate to heavy snow or sleet in parts of northwestern Xinjiang and southeastern Tibet, and heavy snow or heavy snow in parts of northwestern Xinjiang.
