If there are symptoms of physical discomfort, people tend to pay attention to it and actively seek treatment. But sometimes, some diseases do not have obvious symptoms and do not affect life, so they are often ignored by people... Little do people know that some diseases are more dangerous when they have no obvious symptoms! Asymptomatic hypertension Many people believe that as long as there is no "headache" or "dizziness", high blood pressure should not be a big deal and there is no need to worry or seek treatment. In fact, high blood pressure does not always cause obvious discomfort. Among patients with high blood pressure, only a few will experience headaches and dizziness. High blood pressure is often called the "invisible killer" because it may quietly affect your body without you noticing. If high blood pressure is not controlled for a long time, it will have a profound impact on multiple organ systems throughout the body. Even if there is no obvious discomfort, organs such as blood vessels, heart, kidneys, eyes, and brain are slowly suffering from the damage caused by high pressure, which may eventually lead to serious complications. Therefore, it is very necessary to actively control blood pressure, take medication as prescribed by the doctor, and maintain a good lifestyle. Copyright images in the gallery. This is a dangerous idea! Abnormal blood lipids are often silent "invisible killers". If not controlled for a long time, they may lead to serious diseases such as atherosclerosis, heart disease, and stroke . Atherosclerosis is caused by the deposition of "bad cholesterol" (LDL-C) on the arterial wall, forming plaques, leading to vascular stenosis and hardening. In severe cases, the blood vessels may be completely blocked, causing myocardial infarction or stroke. Therefore, even if you feel that everything is normal, you should check your blood lipids regularly, detect and treat them early, and don't let them take advantage of the situation. Especially those with a family history of high blood lipids, obesity, diabetes, high blood pressure and other risk factors should have regular physical examinations. Asymptomatic hyperuricemia Among the newly discovered patients with hyperuricemia in clinical practice, a large proportion of them have never experienced related symptoms, which is medically known as asymptomatic hyperuricemia. However, asymptomatic does not mean that it does not need to be controlled and treated. On the contrary, due to people's neglect, this situation may be more dangerous. This is because being diagnosed with hyperuricemia means that the uric acid concentration in the blood may exceed its saturation and begin to crystallize. And this urate crystal is the culprit for the development of gout. What's more frightening is that urate crystals will quietly deposit in the kidneys, causing gouty nephropathy, kidney stones, and even renal failure. It can be seen that no matter there are symptoms or not, when the blood uric acid exceeds the standard to a certain extent, it will start to harm the human body. It is urgent to lower uric acid and you must seek medical attention in time. And always maintain good eating habits and lifestyle. Copyright images in the gallery. Asymptomatic heart disease Heart disease is a common chronic disease that often develops over a long period of time without any obvious symptoms. This condition is called asymptomatic heart disease, also known as silent heart disease. Due to the lack of obvious symptoms, patients often do not seek medical treatment in time, resulting in delayed disease diagnosis and untimely treatment. Once symptomatic heart disease develops, patients may experience serious consequences such as angina pectoris and myocardial infarction. In addition, asymptomatic heart disease may also increase the risk of complications such as cerebral infarction and renal failure. It should be emphasized that asymptomatic heart disease is not completely without symptoms, but the symptoms are not obvious or ignored. The most common is upper abdominal discomfort (even stomach pain), which may be accompanied by nausea, vomiting, abdominal distension, and the feeling of defecation; it can also be manifested as neck and shoulder pain, chin pain, toothache, throat pain, or a feeling of obstruction in the throat, etc. It can be said to be strange. If the above discomfort occurs in daily life, it should be taken seriously and seek medical attention in time. Asymptomatic fatty liver Clinically, many patients with fatty liver do not show any symptoms in the early or middle stages. Even a few patients with fatty liver still have no clinical symptoms when they develop into fatty hepatitis or early cirrhosis. This is because the liver lacks pain sensation and is called "mute", but in fact the liver has been damaged . It can be seen that the severity of fatty liver is often inconsistent with the severity of its clinical manifestations. Although fatty liver has no symptoms at first, the damage has already occurred silently! In the early stage, it is simple fatty liver. The liver cells are enlarged and degenerated by fat, and finally burst like a balloon; the liver cells swell, inflammatory cells infiltrate, and the liver lobule structure is destroyed; transaminase increases, inflammatory factors increase, and develop into fatty liver hepatitis; if fatty liver hepatitis is not treated in time, liver cells are repeatedly destroyed and repaired, and fibers and scars will slowly form, developing into liver fibrosis (early cirrhosis), and then forming cirrhosis, and finally developing. Asymptomatic hypoglycemia Some patients do not have any warning symptoms when they suffer from hypoglycemia (<3.9 mmol/L), which is called "asymptomatic hypoglycemia". Because there are no symptoms, it is difficult to detect. Patients often fall into a coma without knowing it, especially some elderly people, who are easily mistaken by their family members as being asleep, thus delaying rescue. Because of this, "asymptomatic hypoglycemia" is even more terrifying and causes greater harm to the patient's body. Long-term hypoglycemia can lead to serious brain damage, and in severe cases it can lead to a vegetative state or even the cost of one's life. It is called the "invisible killer" of diabetic patients. Asymptomatic gallstones When the symptoms of gallstones occur, patients often come for treatment quickly because they cannot tolerate the severe pain. However, asymptomatic gallstones that have been living peacefully with patients for a long time are often easily ignored, but the risk factor is not low! There are stones in the gallbladder, but there are no discomfort symptoms such as pain, nausea, vomiting, etc. This situation is medically called "asymptomatic gallstones" or "quiescent gallstones." Asymptomatic gallstones are like a "time bomb" lurking in the human body. The biggest harm is that gallstones without symptoms such as pain, nausea, and vomiting may quietly develop into gallbladder cancer, causing irreversible consequences. Therefore, even patients with asymptomatic gallstones should still be actively examined and treated. It is recommended to have regular B-ultrasound examinations, generally once every six months. Patients should not ignore the harm of gallstones because of the lack of symptoms.
