ZIVOO intends to build the smart home 3.0 era with the help of smart gateway

On July 9 and 10, the Smart Gateway and Smart Home Forum co-organized by the DVB+OTT Integration Innovation Forum, the Home Smart Gateway Industry Alliance and Hubei Radio and Television Network was held at Wuhan Hongshan Hotel.
At the keynote speech on the morning of the 9th, Zou Chao, Chairman and CEO of Shenzhen Zhiwo Technology Co., Ltd. (ZIVOO), gave a speech entitled "Building a Home Smart Entertainment Ecological Center". He believes that a true smart home is not just the Internetization of a home interactive entertainment system, but should achieve organic linkage between various smart homes. In his speech, Zou Chao reviewed the development history of smart home and the current deployment of ZIVOO. At the same time, he also revealed ZIVOO's strategic goal of building a smart home 3.0 ecosystem with the help of smart gateways. Smart Home 1.0 Era: A TV Brings the Whole Family Together "When radio and television were at their peak, any TV set could attract not only one family but also everyone in the village to watch TV," Zou Chao recalled in his speech. This may be seen as the prototype of a smart home, and it also laid the foundation for its development centered on TV. However, with the development of smartphones and tablets, the living room and TV have gradually lost their role as the center of the family. It is now very common to see a family playing with their phones while having a meal together. In order to regain the original territory, the second generation of television came into being. It changed from simple live broadcast to support on-demand and more interactive, including IPTV, OTT and many other ecosystems. This can be regarded as the 1.0 era of smart home. Smart Home 2.0 Era: Video + Game Interactive Mode A true family center should satisfy the entertainment needs of every family member while providing an opportunity for interaction and communication. This requires not only the organic combination of multiple dimensions such as video, games, karaoke, etc., but also in-depth exploration and innovation in each dimension. This is what ZIVOO is doing. According to Zou Chao, ZIVOO is cooperating with Mango Entertainment to provide high-quality content of Mango TV to the majority of users. In addition, ZIVOO also provides an Internet-based karaoke hall. In addition to satisfying the karaoke needs of Chinese people, this hall also has the characteristics of deep socialization. For example, you can have in-depth experiences such as competitions and private rooms. Of course, the demands of children cannot be ignored. There are dozens of somatosensory games in ZIVOO's somatosensory hall, and children can exercise their thinking and control abilities while playing games. However, to realize the above functions, it is inseparable from the supporting hardware support. To cooperate with the karaoke hall, ZIVOO has created the industry's first wireless microphone developed specifically for smart TVs; to cooperate with somatosensory games, ZIVOO provides a unique somatosensory handle. These are all plus points for user experience. Smart Home 3.0 Era: Linked Smart Home System Based on Home Entertainment Center "I think that simply watching videos, playing games, and singing KK songs can only be slightly internet-based, and are still far from being smart." Zou Chao explained the smart home 2.0 ecosystem that focuses on videos and games. So what is a real smart home? Zou Chao then proposed the vision of 3.0. "Whether it is DVB+OTT or IPTV+OTT, with the current Internet technology, there are actually more choices besides video, entertainment, games, and karaoke. For example, the control and linkage of the entire smart home, and the linkage of IOT devices." Zou Chao believes. When talking about smart home, we will inevitably come up with the issue of entry. At present, the industry has not yet reached a conclusion on which product will eventually take on this important task. Zou Chao expressed ZIVOO's views on this issue in his speech. "Based on our observation of user psychology and user usage habits, we believe that smart set-top boxes and smart gateways should be indispensable and should coexist, each solving its own problems. When the two come together to form an ecosystem, it will achieve the effect of 1+1 being greater than 2." It is still hard to say whether the smart gateway will become the final solution for the entrance of smart home. But no matter what the solution is, the ultimate goal is to better realize the linkage between home products and open the era of smart home 3.0 as soon as possible.
