YouTube to launch monthly ad-free membership, but TV stations not support it

YouTube is the world's largest original video website for netizens. It is planning to launch a monthly subscription service with no advertisements. According to the latest news, this paid service has signed agreements with 90% of YouTube's current excellent video producers, but some professional TV stations are not interested. YouTube's efforts to transform into Netflix through product diversification still face some obstacles.

According to Bloomberg, YouTube has signed cooperation agreements with video producers and organizations that account for 90% of viewing time for its monthly video service. These videos mainly feature YouTube stars and music videos.

However, sources revealed that YouTube has not yet signed a contract with the US television industry, such as the well-known Fox, NBC and CBS.

It is well known that in terms of video services, competitors such as Netflix, Hulu and Amazon have completely different models from YouTube. They mainly rely on copyrighted videos and TV series from TV stations, and various TV station column programs are popular.

If it is difficult to obtain TV programs, YouTube's monthly subscription videos will face certain difficulties and can only utilize existing original programs, Internet celebrity channels, etc.

Sources say YouTube's monthly video service is scheduled to be launched by the end of this year.

According to media analysis, the U.S. television industry prefers to use YouTube as a marketing tool for programs and TV series, merely providing some trailers and other content, rather than as a formal broadcasting platform.

According to reports, in order to encourage users to pay to watch videos, YouTube will launch a video caching function that allows users to watch videos even when they are not connected to the Internet. Currently, the free service does not provide this function.

In addition, YouTube has previously launched a music video service with a monthly subscription of $10. According to sources, YouTube may integrate the music video service with the monthly subscription video service.
