China Passenger Car Association & CAM: Passenger car market product competitiveness index in November 2019 was 90.3

The Automobile Market Research Branch of the China Automobile Dealers Association (Passenger Car Market Information Joint Committee, referred to as the Passenger Car Market Information Joint Committee) and Shanghai Fulan Automotive Technology Co., Ltd. (CAM Automotive Consulting) jointly released the "Product Competitiveness Index", aiming to build a mature product evaluation standard, study the factors affecting product competitiveness, and gain insight into market trends.

The "Product Competitiveness Index" is an index that quantifies product competitiveness by building a product competitiveness index system based on four dimensions: user reputation, market popularity, product evaluation, and price strength. The larger the index value, the stronger the comprehensive competitiveness of the product.

Index overview in November 2019: Taking January 2019 as the base period, the overall market product competitiveness index in November 2019 was 90.3, basically the same as the previous month. In terms of market segments, the SUV market competitiveness index declined slightly, while the sedan and MPV indices rose slightly.

Overall market product competitiveness index trend: In November, the overall automobile market heat and comprehensive product competitiveness remained good, and the competitiveness index was basically the same as last month. Among them, the competitiveness index of sedans, MPVs and SUVs fluctuated less than last month. In terms of sub-indicators, terminal price power weakened slightly, and user reputation, communication power and product evaluation remained good.

Trend of the sedan market product competitiveness index: Overall, the sedan market product competitiveness index was 90.2 in November 2019, up 0.1 percentage points from the previous month. Improved product evaluation was the main factor contributing to the increase in the sedan market competitiveness index.

Trend of SUV market product competitiveness index: In November 2019, the SUV market product competitiveness index was 90.6, a decrease of 0.2 points from the previous month. The weakening of terminal price power in this market segment was the main reason for the decline in the competitiveness index.

MPV market product competitiveness index trend: In November 2019, the MPV market product competitiveness index was 90.6, up 0.8 points from the previous month. The increase in market heat and improved product evaluation are important reasons for the enhanced competitiveness of this market.
