Unlike previous years, the General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine and the National Standardization Administration recently officially announced a new national standard for air purifiers to replace the old standard introduced in 2008, and announced that the new standard will be implemented from March 1, 2016. With the implementation of the new national standard, the air purifier industry will usher in a new round of reshuffle. It is worth noting that in addition to strictly following the new national standard in terms of indicators, the eight new products launched by Yadu are all smart air purifiers.

With the rise of smart hardware, the Internet of Things, and the disruption of Internet companies, traditional air purifier manufacturers are also facing the challenge of transforming to the Internet. At the same time, traditional air purifiers have complex operations, difficult to perceive air purification results, and user data cannot be counted, which need to be solved urgently.

It is understood that the intelligent transformation of the new air purifier launched by YADU was completed by Ablecloud, the pioneer of the domestic energy hardware Paas cloud platform. Cui Xiaoyang, co-founder of AbleCloud, introduced that YADU's intelligent transformation, including subsequent intelligent products, back-end services and front-end APP development, will be completed by AbleCloud, and the two parties have established a long-term cooperative relationship.

The access to the cloud platform can provide remote control, data analysis and other services for traditional home appliances that are becoming increasingly intelligent, and has been favored by traditional manufacturers. In addition, AbleCloud can also provide manufacturers with services such as device management, account system, massive long connection management, device firmware OTA, and cloud data storage.

Cui Xiaoyang explained the specific form of cooperation between the two parties, "We have built an overall intelligent cloud platform to make it easy for YADU's smart devices to connect and store data. In addition, we also provide data analysis services, such as marketing status, user activation status, and interactive development of APP, so that YADU can focus more on hardware solution design and production."

Affected by the domestic environmental quality, air purification products have been selling well since the year before last, with a large influx of capital and a large number of companies entering the field. Due to the low technical threshold, the quality of air purifiers on the market varies greatly, and there has even been disorderly competition with exaggerated publicity and misleading consumers, causing chaos in the air purification market.

Since 2015, with the improvement of air quality and the increasing rationality of consumers' shopping, the sales volume of air purifiers has declined. According to data from Aowei Cloud Network, in the first half of this year, the retail sales volume of air purifiers was 5.81 billion yuan, a year-on-year decrease of 20.5%; the retail volume was 2.98 million units, a year-on-year decrease of 10%. Long Lin, president of Yadu Company, believes that with the cold market, a large number of emerging air purifier companies will go bankrupt by the end of this year, especially the implementation of the new national standard, which will effectively improve the mixed situation of the air purifier market.

Cui Xiaoyang agreed with this situation, "The implementation of the new national standard will eliminate a large number of unqualified products. In the short term, traditional manufacturers will definitely experience the pain of transformation, but in the long run, once traditional manufacturers successfully transform, they will have more competitive advantages." In addition to the air purification industry, with the enrichment and development of smart home product forms, traditional home appliance manufacturers' cloud-connected solutions will become a new development trend. Similarly, the country's regulations on home appliances will become increasingly strict, and products with only gimmicks and substandard technology will eventually be eliminated by the market.
