MADE Industry Research Price Index is published by Anluqin. It is a comprehensive index system that reflects the terminal price and discount changes in the passenger car market.

1. 2022 MADE Industry Research· Overall Price Change Index—January

MADE·The overall market price change index in January was 0.04, and the average market transaction price was 165,400

1. The overall average transaction price in the market this month increased by RMB 6,100 compared with last month, a month-on-month increase of 3.8%.

2. In the first month of 2022, the average transaction price of the national passenger car market increased, and the average transaction prices of the three major body types in the market increased month-on-month, among which sedans increased by as much as 7.2%, and SUVs and MPVs increased slightly by 1.1% and 1.2% month-on-month respectively.

MADE·In January, the overall market discount change index was 0.17, and the average market discount was 18,900

1. The overall discount in the market this month increased by 2,700 yuan compared with last month, a month-on-month increase of 16.7%.

2. The overall passenger car market terminal discounts this month have also expanded compared to last month, among which the overall discount of the sedan market has increased significantly by 20%, while the overall discount of the SUV market has also increased by 15%. Only the overall discount of the MPV market has decreased by 9.4%.

Passenger car market

1.MADE·The car market price change index in January was 0.07, and the average transaction price was RMB 161,400.

  • The average transaction price of sedans this month increased by RMB 10,800 compared with the previous month, a month-on-month increase of 7.2%.
  • In the sedan market this month, except for the A-class segment where the average transaction price fell slightly by 1.4%, the average transaction prices of other segments all increased, with the high-end C-class and B-class markets increasing by 3.5% and 3.4% respectively, and the low-end A0-class market increasing by 2.7%.

2.MADE·The discount change index of the sedan market in January was 0.20, and the average discount range in the market was 21,200.

  • The average discount in the sedan market this month increased by RMB 3,500 compared with last month, a month-on-month increase of 20.0%.
  • This month, the discounts in the sedan market increased significantly, mainly due to the substantial increase in discounts in the mid-to-high-end market segments, among which the B-class market increased by 26.1%, the C-class market increased by 15%, and the A-class market increased by 11.1%. Only the low-end A0-class market decreased by 8.8%.

SUV Market

1.MADE·The SUV market price change index in January was 0.01, and the average transaction price was RMB 169,200.

  • The average transaction price of SUVs this month increased by RMB 1,800 compared with the previous month, up 1.1% month-on-month.
  • The overall average transaction price of the SUV market rose slightly this month. The average transaction prices of the mid-to-high-end B-class and C-class segments rose by 5.2% and 1.4% respectively, while those of the mid-to-low-end A-class and A0-class segments fell by 2.6% and 5.8% respectively.

2.MADE·The discount change index of SUV market in January was 0.15, and the average discount range was 18,300.

  • The average discount in the SUV market this month increased by RMB 2,400 compared with last month, a month-on-month increase of 15.3%.
  • This month, the overall discounts in the SUV market increased significantly. Among the various market segments, except for the C-class with a smaller share, which decreased by 23.2%, the discounts in other market segments increased. Among them, the main sales markets of A-class and B-class increased by 19.5% and 18.8% respectively, and the low-end market A0-class increased by 3.8%.

MPV Market

1.MADE·The MPV market price change index in January was 0.01, and the average market transaction price was 164,800.

  • The average transaction price of MPVs this month increased by RMB 1,900 compared with the previous month, a month-on-month increase of 1.2%.
  • The overall transaction price of the MPV market did not change much this month. Except for the 200,000-300,000 yuan high-end models, whose sales share increased by 3%, the sales share of other price segments all decreased slightly.
2.MADE·The MPV market discount change index in January was – 0.09, and the average discount range was RMB 5,800.
  • The average discount in the MPV market this month decreased by 600 yuan compared with last month, a month-on-month decrease of 9.4%.
  • As the sales share of models with discounts of more than 10,000 yuan at the terminal fell by 3% this month, and the sales share of models in the 5,000-10,000 yuan range fell by 2%, the overall discount in the MPV market has declined compared with last month.

Appendix: Research City

  • Currently, 46 cities are participating in the research, including Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Chengdu, Wuhan, etc., covering the first-, second- and third-tier cities in the main passenger car sales areas across the country.
  • To reflect real market price changes, the MADE price index will monitor all body styles in the national passenger car market as well as vehicle models in various market segments.

Research model selection criteria

  • The passenger car models on sale in the market in the Anluqin price monitoring system are calculated based on the market sales data released by the China Passenger Car Association.
  • Currently, there is no tracking and monitoring of new energy vehicle models such as pure electric, plug-in hybrid and fuel cell power sources.
  • Currently, there is no price tracking monitoring for the A00 level market segment.
