Snowden predicts: Apple iPhone will be screwed by FBI

According to foreign media reports, the battle between Apple and the FBI has ended, but how the FBI cracked the criminal's iPhone 5c has not only aroused curiosity among the outside world but also made iPhone users worried. Now Edward Snowden, a former employee of the National Security Agency (NSA), has predicted that this year will be a tragedy for the iPhone.

Snowden predicts that the iPhone will be in tragedy in August

Snowden tweeted his prediction, saying that the FBI refused to close the security loophole used to crack the iPhone 5c, which would lead to a global attack on the iPhone before the end of the year. Two minutes later, Snowden added, "We will see the prediction come true as early as the end of August." Earlier, the FBI repeatedly stressed that it could not crack the iPhone 5c, but Snowden thought this was nonsense.

Although the FBI has not directly admitted it, it is generally believed that an Israeli security company called "Cellebrite" provided assistance in cracking the phone. The latest news shows that there may be another expert, possibly a mysterious "gray hat" hacker team, who allegedly mastered the 0-Day vulnerability and cracked the iPhone 5c.

If Apple still cannot find out the cracking process and vulnerabilities used by the FBI, or the behind-the-scenes team helping the FBI, the iPhone and iOS devices may really face greater threats in the future as Snowden predicted.

However, Apple has said that the method used by the FBI to crack the iPhone 5c is unlikely to remain secret for long, and once disclosed, Apple can fix the encryption loophole.
