Toyota adjusts car/light truck production ratio to light trucks

According to a US media report on November 28, Toyota Motor Corporation currently produces cars and trucks at a 50:50 ratio, which is evenly distributed. Toyota plans to increase the proportion of light trucks in 2017, bringing the production ratio of the two to 60:40.

Toyota will adjust its strategy and increase the proportion of light trucks to meet market demand. The new C-HR compact crossover was unveiled at this year's Los Angeles Auto Show. Toyota has high hopes for it and plans to use C-HR as a pioneer to complete the market transformation. The general manager of Toyota's business unit said that although Toyota rarely has such excellent models on the market, based on market feedback, we are very confident this time.

The C-HR will compete with the Honda HR-V, Mazda CX-3 and Nissan Juke, while Toyota will also increase production of its RAV4 and Highlander crossovers to meet market demand in 2017. The midsize Tacoma and Tundra pickups are popular, but sales will be limited in the future due to supply issues.
