Recently, Rolls-Royce released two official spy photos of its first SUV model, Cullinan (Cullinan is only the name of the project, and the mass-produced model is likely to adopt a new name). The spy photos show the design of the front half of the new car, but the body is still covered with camouflage. It is reported that Rolls-Royce will start road testing of Cullinan on public roads from now on, and winter testing will also begin in the Arctic Circle from this month. In 2018, the mass-produced version of the new car will be officially put into production, with an annual output of 4,000 units. The previously exposed spy photos of Cullinan were all early test vehicles with "shells" of Phantom, while the two spy photos released by the official this time show test vehicles with mass-produced bodywork. It can be seen that the front of the new car still uses a design language similar to the Phantom, with a dense front grille and square front lines revealing the unique majesty and solemnity of Rolls-Royce. Giles Taylor, the head of Rolls-Royce design, previously revealed at the 2015 Frankfurt Motor Show that the new car will continue to use the "carriage-style" door opening method. This design makes Rolls-Royce different from other brands and is also an important part of Rolls-Royce's genetic heritage. In addition, according to previous news, Cullinan will be the first model to adopt Rolls-Royce's new aluminum chassis. This new chassis will provide certain help for the lightweight of the vehicle. After Cullinan goes into production in 2018, the chassis will also be used in more new Rolls-Royce models.
