Hankook's senior management reshuffles to place more emphasis on China

Hankook Tire and its holding company Hana Tire Worldwide recently announced a new round of senior management appointments, which will promote one senior vice president and 14 vice presidents. The new executives will take office on January 1, 2017, including Yu Bingyi, the new head of the China regional headquarters.

Lee Soo Il, currently the head of Hankook Tire's China regional headquarters, will serve as the head of the marketing department and corporate management department.

Lee Soo-il played a significant role in driving Hankook Tire's sales growth and strengthening its high-end brand image. During his tenure, Hankook Tire's sales in China increased by 20% year-on-year in 2016.

Woo Byung-il, currently head of Hankook Tire's global OE supporting division, will serve as head of Hankook Tire's China regional headquarters.

Yu Bingyi successfully promoted the cooperation between Hankook Tire and BMW. Hankook Tire successively provided supporting services for BMW MINI, the new 1 Series and the new 3 Series; and expanded the original supporting cooperation between Hankook Tire and the high-end automobile brand Porsche;

In 2012, Yu Bingyi led his team to establish a cooperative relationship with commercial truck manufacturer Daimler Trucks North America (DTNA), opening a new chapter for Hankook Tire to enter the North American high-end truck and bus tire market.

The new round of executive appointments aims to realign the management structure, optimize the internal infrastructure and emerging market strategy, and enhance the company's global competitiveness in the world's top tire market. At the same time, it can help the company enhance its brand value through a proactive and innovative corporate culture, and strengthen human resources management and internal digital infrastructure.

The new round of executive appointments will enable Hankook Tire to further enhance its brand technological excellence and leadership, and consolidate its position as a top global tire company. The further improvement of management capabilities will help enhance Hankook Tire's brand value in the global tire market.
