What can UCloud do to accelerate Chinese companies’ overseas expansion?

The original intention of globalization strategy

During the Spring Festival this year, Meitu Xiuxiu became popular in Europe and the United States and topped the Japanese App Store list, which once again triggered heated discussions about the overseas expansion of domestic applications. For domestic Internet practitioners, it is not uncommon for products to "go overseas" in the industry, and there are also many who have achieved remarkable results. Data shows that there are currently more than 5,000 games and applications exported from China, of which small and medium-sized enterprises account for a large proportion. This is also due to the harsh domestic market competition environment and the fact that companies are chasing the growth dividends of emerging economic regions abroad. However, for many small and medium-sized manufacturers in China, the vast growth space and demographic dividends in emerging regions correspond to the growth costs of market education, development and localization operations. Overseas, where there are differences in cultural customs, regional laws, user habits, etc., small and medium-sized manufacturers do not have many opportunities for trial and error. UCloud hopes that companies can focus on their core business without having to consider issues such as the reliability of overseas IT facilities, underlying technical solutions, and communication costs with service providers. To this end, after nearly a year of preparation, UCloud recently released its globalization strategy. The new overseas data centers and solutions hope to help excellent domestic Internet products achieve globalization more quickly and conveniently. UCloud's response to customer pain points Currently, there are more than 40,000 companies running on the UCloud cloud platform, and many of them have the need to "go overseas". In the in-depth communication with these companies, UCloud sorted out some common core needs, and in the globalization strategy released this time, it put forward a targeted and complete response. Rapid deployment of cloud computing in multiple regions has long been popularized in the domestic Internet industry, and many companies have already enjoyed high-quality cloud services. However, the level of development of science and technology and economy in different regions of the world varies, and some regions (such as Thailand, Russia, and South America) still cannot provide complete cloud computing services. These regions often have huge growth potential and are hot spots for "going overseas". Therefore, many companies want to conduct business and can only choose to purchase servers and follow the traditional IDC model. In the case of unpredictable business development, there will be a high cost of trial and error. After deployment and performance tuning, the 6 major international data centers newly launched by UCloud can ensure that users can enjoy complete cloud services in popular overseas regions (North America, Southeast Asia, and Europe). For customers who have already deployed servers overseas, UCloud provides hybrid cloud to flexibly integrate existing resources and provide the lowest cost resource deployment solution. (Figure 1: UCloud adds 6 data centers) Due to factors such as distance and network interconnection of operators in different regions, the delay and packet loss of global network mutual access are relatively serious, which will not only reduce user experience and cause user loss, but also create great obstacles to operation and maintenance management. This puts high demands on network services: not only to ensure the end-user experience across regions, but also to meet the timeliness and stability of the network when technicians perform operation and maintenance management such as database synchronization. In order to solve the above network problems, UCloud has independently developed a number of targeted products: Global Network Acceleration UGAA relies on UCloud's proprietary network and forwarding clusters around the world, through intelligent link scheduling, to achieve local access for users in various places, and then forward business traffic to the source station to solve problems such as international link export congestion. It can improve the application performance and service experience of the business worldwide. Cross-domain channel UDPN cross-domain management channel is an ultra-long-distance dedicated line network based on infrastructure such as the same-city ring network and cross-border dedicated lines. It can provide low-latency and high-quality intranet data transmission capabilities between various data center nodes across regions in the UCloud platform, which can meet extremely high network requirements (such as cross-regional database synchronization). (Figure 2: UGAA Schematic Diagram) Meet higher business stability requirements Since the products going overseas will try to reuse the mature architecture that has been verified in China to reduce operation and maintenance costs and improve business stability. This requires cloud service providers to provide a globally consistent and high-demand computer room architecture to ensure product stability. UCloud has proposed a complete solution for this: Early warning, no-feeling migration: As in China, using UCloud's mature online migration technology, when a hardware device failure alarm occurs, the customer's cloud host can be quickly migrated, and the customer's own business will not be affected during the migration process. High-availability products: UCloud's self-developed high-availability UDB products are deployed globally, which are not restricted by hardware factors and can be quickly switched when hardware failures occur. Data security: UCloud's featured product Data Ark provides continuous data protection services, with backup capabilities accurate to seconds, to fully protect user data. Combining the above products and technologies, plus high-quality intranet transmission, UCloud can ensure the high availability and stability of the overall system without adjusting the user's original architecture, and respond to various emergencies. High-quality services and lower costs Small and medium-sized Internet companies account for a large proportion of enterprises going overseas. They are not only more sensitive to costs, but also may not have enough manpower and energy to solve communication problems with foreign cloud service providers. Foreign cloud service providers such as AWS and SoftLayer use a work order system to handle problems and failures, which is slow to respond. In addition, due to language barriers, communication costs are high and service experience is poor. As a local cloud service provider, UCloud does not have language differences, and compared with overseas cloud service providers (such as AWS and SoftLayer), UCloud's usage cost is about 50% lower (calculated from the prices of some core products). At the same time, UCloud provides exclusive VIP technical support, 7*24 hours on call, and responds within 90 seconds to ensure the user's service experience. Forge ahead, UCloud helps Chinese companies go global . A well-known Internet figure once said that the opportunities in the second half of the Internet lie in the distance, that is, globalization and internationalization. With the continuous improvement of the strength and influence of Chinese companies, we have seen more and more local companies successfully go overseas. But it is not easy to truly achieve internationalization. What the international market needs is Internet companies with innovative spirit and broad pattern.
