The Audi A6L has always been a mid-size car with good sales in the market, but its brothers do not seem to be so lucky.

As the Volkswagen brand's first C-class sedan, the Volkswagen Phideon is built on the same platform as the Audi A6L. From its appearance to its interior, many people call it a replica of the Audi A6L. However, if we talk about the dismal sales performance of less than 1,600 units sold in the first half of this year, it can't be compared with its big brother at all.

Therefore, in order to improve sales, SAIC Volkswagen has come up with a new idea for the modified model of the Phideon.

After launching the 2018 Phideon at the end of July, SAIC Volkswagen officially announced that it will continue to launch facelifted models with the idea of ​​"increasing quantity without increasing price". The selling price remains at 349,000-659,000 yuan, but many people may not be able to imagine the "increase in quantity".

Specifically, the new Phideon is basically the same as the current model, continuing to be equipped with two engines, a 2.0-liter turbocharged (380TSI) and a 3.0-liter supercharged V6 (480 V6), both matched with a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission. The biggest difference of the new car is the adjustment of the central control screen, upgrading the original 8-inch central control screen to 9.2 inches.

SAIC Volkswagen may have been inspired by Tesla to enlarge the size of the central control screen. Although it failed to give the car more technological elements, for consumers who choose Volkswagen, it at least makes the car look more advanced.
