Price cuts pay off: Volkswagen Phideon to launch 330TSI model, lowers price range

As the successor to Volkswagen's flagship sedan Phaeton, the Phideon is positioned as a C-class sedan with a lower brand premium than the Audi A6. However, with a starting price of 349,000 yuan, the Phideon is mixed with many B-class sedans from luxury brands, which makes the positioning of the Phideon somewhat awkward, resulting in sluggish sales, with monthly sales often less than a thousand.

However, with the price reduction of the Phideon, the starting price will exceed the bottom line of 300,000 yuan, which has stimulated the sales of the Phideon and allowed the sales of the Phideon to achieve the achievement of breaking through 3,000 units. Now, the Phideon will launch the 330TSI model to further lower the price range.

Judging from the spy photos of the Phideon, the interior and exterior styling of the new car is basically the same as the entry-level model 380TSI two-wheel drive business version currently on sale. The multi-stripe air intake grille on the front face is integrated with the headlights on both sides, giving it a strong sense of horizontal visual stretching, and the front of the car will be flatter when viewed from a distance.

The 330TSI logo has been replaced on the rear of the car, which also represents a new power system. Considering that the Tiguan L has discontinued the 1.8T model and adopted two 2.0T engines with different power, it is expected that the Phideon will be equipped with the same 2.0T low-power version of the Tiguan L model, with a maximum power of 186 horsepower and a peak torque of 320 Nm.

The interior design is no different from the current models on sale, but the central multimedia display screen does not have the full touch design of the 380TSI/480 V6 models. After all, it is an entry-level model, so don't expect too much. However, as a flagship sedan, rear air-conditioning vents, leather seats and other configurations are not absent.
