At the end of 2016, there were about 600 charging pile companies in China. In the first half of 2017, there were more than 1,000 companies, but by the end of the year, there were only about 800 companies. Industry experts believe that until the first half of 2019, many pile companies will have a hard time, firstly because they are short of money and secondly because they have no profits due to the price war. "The industry reshuffle may not be completed until 2020, and those who remain by then will be the real winners." Those pile companies that collapsed in the wind basically have two characteristics: one is that they engage in price wars, and the other is that they do not possess core technologies. Before entering the market, many people did not master the core technology and basic ability to produce charging piles. They first found someone to outsource a batch of products and sold them at extremely low prices, thinking that as long as there were large orders in the future, everything would be fine. But in the end, they all died on the road waiting for the large orders to arrive. Under the influence of the price war, the price in the industry has been pushed down from 2 yuan per watt to 30 or 40 cents per watt. In the chaos, most charging pile companies have no profit. Under such circumstances, the ones who can survive are basically the big players who have cooperated with the State Grid. The smaller players can only accept orders from some small charging pile operators. The cooperation between the small operators and the charging pile companies is generally in installments. In the end, they can no longer do business and do not pay the balance. The charging pile market has been growing at a blowout rate, doubling every year. Therefore, in this industry, survival is the first priority, and the market share will be increasingly concentrated in the hands of a few companies.
