Unprecedented: Volvo Motors will not display cars at the Auto Show, but will focus on forward-looking mobility technologies

According to Automotive News, Volvo Cars will make an unprecedented move at the Los Angeles Auto Show - it will not display any vehicles at its booth. The current trend is that more and more automakers tend to choose to release new models separately to attract global customers more directly. Volvo's move is also an adjustment to the trend of the times.

A Volvo executive said its plans for the Los Angeles auto show represent another shift to highlight the need for a fresh approach to the widespread disruption the auto industry is experiencing. Marten Levenstam, Volvo's senior vice president of strategy, said the company is trying to shift its focus from what it has done for the past 90 years. It's time to do different things with different methods.

The stand will be used for interactive demonstrations of connected services, such as express delivery, Volvo's vision for autonomous driving, and the services provided by Care by Volvo's car subscription program. The exhibition area will also be used to showcase Volvo's car sharing plan. In addition, Volvo plans to use the exhibition to emphasize its firm belief in strategic partners. Partners who share the stage with it at this auto show include Amazon, Google and chip maker Nvidia.

Volvo will reportedly use Nvidia's high-performance Drive AGX Xavier technology in its next-generation cars to enable its models to reach Level 4 autonomous driving. At the same time, Volvo has partnered with Amazon to provide American consumers with a safe delivery service.
