GAC Aion has taken the lead in applying for L3 autonomous driving

Recently, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology and four other departments jointly issued the "Notice on the Pilot Work of Access and Road Use of Intelligent Connected Vehicles", which formally made specific requirements for the access standards of L3/L4 autonomous driving, and at the same time proposed to support and further promote advanced autonomous driving technologies and products that have been verified through pilot projects.

At the same time, Gu Huinan, general manager of GAC Aion, said in a recent media interview that Aion is currently applying for the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology's L3 pilot announcement. Gu Huinan said that the Haobo HT is equipped with 6R (6 millimeter-wave radars), 13V (13 high-definition cameras), and 3L (3 laser radars) autonomous driving hardware. These configurations are the highest among the currently mass-produced models and can achieve L3 autonomous driving. GAC Aion is applying for the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology's L3 pilot announcement. As a representative of high intelligence, it is hoped that the Haobo HT can become the first batch of models to obtain L3 autonomous driving.

L3 means that the subject of autonomous driving operation has truly changed from human to car, which is a qualitative leap. At present, GAC Aion's L3 autonomous driving has taken the lead in both technical reserves and progress. This application seems to have responded to GAC Aion's statement at the Guangzhou Auto Show, "Compared with many 'far-ahead' technologies nowadays, we are only half a step ahead."
