Microsoft officially responds to the Chinese government's ban on Windows 8

The Central Government Procurement Network recently issued the "Important Notice of the Central Government Procurement Center", requiring that all computer products not be allowed to install the Windows 8 operating system. Some security experts said that the introduction of this regulation may be related to ensuring the information security of government departments. Windows 8 has the risk of privacy leakage, and user data may be transmitted back to the US server. For a time, various rumors were rampant. Regarding the recent rumors about Windows 8, Microsoft China issued a statement yesterday to clarify. Microsoft emphasized that Win8 has no "backdoor" and protecting customer privacy is the foundation of Microsoft's life. Microsoft pointed out in the statement that Microsoft has never assisted any government in attacking other governments or customers; never provided any government with direct access to products and services; never opened "backdoors" in products and services; never provided any customer information and data to the United States for national security reasons; and never concealed the requests of various governments for customer information.
