Since China Mobile obtained the TD-SCDMA license, its tragic fate has been doomed. Most users feel that China Mobile's 3G is slow, poorly covered, and cannot be used abroad. After finally entering the 4G era, China Mobile confidently believes that the TD-LTE standard can help it survive the cold winter, but unfortunately, China Mobile seems to have miscalculated again. As we all know, due to the existence of two relatively non-mainstream standards, TD-LTE and TD-SCDMA, China Mobile's current 4G mobile phone requirements are to support five modes and ten frequencies, including FDD/TDD/WCDMA/TD-SCDMA and GSM, so as to ensure compatibility with local network standards when roaming abroad. As China Telecom and China Unicom have obtained FDD licenses and their 3G network standards are relatively mainstream, their requirements for mobile phones to support network standards are relatively lower. The latest news shows that all 4G mobile phones of China Unicom adopt FDD/TDD/WCDMA/GSM four-mode standard, and most of the 4G terminals customized by China Telecom are also FDD/TDD/EVDO/GSM four-mode standard, but there are also FDD/EVDO/GSM three-mode mobile phones. In this way, the cost of Unicom/Telecom mobile phones will be easier to control than that of China Mobile, and the price will naturally be cheaper, which is obviously not what China Mobile wants to see. Of course, China Mobile, which is rich in money, can make up for this gap by increasing subsidies, but under the pressure of the three major operators' business tax reform, China Mobile is probably powerless.
