Recently, according to foreign media reports, market research firm Omdia disclosed that in the second quarter of 2023, Nvidia shipped 900 tons of H100 AI GPUs. Omdia believes that the average weight of an H100 GPU with a cooler is more than 3 kilograms, so Nvidia shipped more than 300,000 H100s in the second quarter. Omdia estimates that Nvidia is on track to sell about 3,600 tons of H100 GPUs this year, which equates to about 1.2 million units. These numbers do not include shipments of previous generation GPUs, such as the A100, A800, and A30. Currently, Nvidia is favored by investors and is considered a key supplier to meet the demand for AI computing power. Its high-end processors have been used to train and run various chatbots. It is reported that the popularity of generative AI such as the chatbot ChatGPT has increased the demand for high-performance GPUs such as NVIDIA H100, A100, H800 and A800, which has enabled the company to capture a 90% market share in the global AI GPU market. Foreign media said that as Nvidia profits from the generative artificial intelligence craze, the company's shipments will accelerate in the coming year. Previously, foreign media reported that Nvidia plans to ship 1.5 million to 2 million AI GPUs by 2024, most of which are H100. Omida's latest report shows that the company is on track to reach this milestone. (Little Fox) From Techweb |
