China Automobile Association: Domestic new energy vehicle sales in January 2024 reached 629,000 units, a year-on-year increase of 93.3%

According to recent news, the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers released the production and sales data of the automobile industry in January 2024, showing that the domestic sales of new energy vehicles in January were 629,000 units, a year-on-year increase of 93.3%.

Data shows that in January, the production and sales of new energy vehicles reached 787,000 and 729,000 respectively, up 85.3% and 78.8% year-on-year, and down 32.9% and 38.8% month-on-month, respectively. The market share reached 29.9%.

Among them, the production and sales of pure electric vehicles were 489,000 and 445,000 respectively, a year-on-year increase of 63.9% and 55.1%; the production and sales of plug-in hybrid vehicles were 297,000 and 284,000 respectively, a year-on-year increase of 136.1% and 135%.

In January, domestic sales of new energy vehicles reached 629,000 units, down 41.8% from the previous month and up 93.3% from the previous year; exports of new energy vehicles reached 101,000 units, down 9.8% from the previous month and up 21.7% from the previous year.

In addition, the top ten corporate groups in terms of new energy vehicle sales in January had a total sales volume of 630,000 vehicles, a year-on-year increase of 77.9%, accounting for 86.4% of the total new energy vehicle sales.

In terms of price, sales of new energy passenger vehicles in all price ranges showed positive growth in January compared with the same period last year, with the largest increase of 7.2 times in the 80,000-100,000 yuan price range; the highest sales volume was in the 150,000-200,000 yuan price range, at 185,000 units, a year-on-year increase of 73.1%.
