Samsung's next flagship Galaxy S6 may have a smaller battery than the Galaxy S5, according to photos spotted by tech blog Phone Arena, which purportedly show it was taken at a battery factory in China. The batteries have the Samsung logo on them and their capacity is listed as 2,600 mAh. The current Galaxy S5 has a 2,800 mAh battery. The authenticity of these photos cannot be confirmed at present. Phone Arena believes that the model of this battery is consistent with the rumored Galaxy S6 model and the model of Samsung's current battery products, which is in line with Samsung's model allocation rules. Even if the photos are accurate, it doesn't mean the Galaxy S6 will have less battery life than its predecessor. It's possible Samsung has made software tweaks to the Galaxy S6 to be more power efficient, but we're unlikely to know the details until Samsung officially unveils the phone on March 1. In addition to the smaller battery, rumors suggest the Galaxy S6 will feature a new metal design, a sharper screen and Samsung's new TouchWiz software.
