China Automobile Dealers Association: Tesla Model X will lead the new energy vehicle market with a value retention rate of over 80% in 2024

The China Automobile Dealers Association released the "2024 China Automobile Retention Rate Report", in which Tesla's two models ranked first and second in the value retention rate of new energy vehicles, and BYD Seagull is the domestic new energy vehicle with the highest value retention rate.

In the field of new energy vehicles, because most models have been on sale for less than 3 years, the report specifically gives a one-year value retention rate ranking.

Tesla Model X and Model S are the top two flagship models, and Model X is the only model on the list with a value retention rate of over 80%. BYD Seagull ranks third with a value retention rate of 75.29%.

Unlike gasoline vehicles, "the more expensive it is, the higher its value retention rate" is just the opposite for new energy vehicles. For example, the value retention rate of Porsche Taycan is far lower than that of BYD Seagull, Baojun Yueye, etc.

What is more surprising is that models such as Wenjie and Xiaomi are not on the list. I don’t know why.
