Google Talk, once a favorite among programmers, will be shut down next week

Google Talk, which was once very popular among programmers, has begun to notify users that it will officially stop service next week, February 16th. They suggest users use Google hangouts instant messaging service instead. Google Talk was once popular for its simple functions, fast speed and no ads. And because it uses the XMPP communication protocol, there are many third-party clients that support Google Talk. It is not clear whether these third-party clients will challenge this issue.

Although Google Hangouts has better features than Google Talk, integrating Google Talk, voice, and text messaging, the lack of desktop client support still disappoints many Google Talk users.
