Apple releases iOS 9.0.1, fixes multiple bugs

Today, Apple released iOS 9.0.1, a minor update that fixes some bugs in iOS 9, including alarms, timers, Safari, and cellular data. iOS 9.0.1 was released exactly one week after iOS 9 was released on September 16.

All iOS 9 users can upgrade via OTA.

Apple claims that the upgrade size is 35.0MB. The updated iOS 9.0.1 system fixes bugs related to timers, Safari, and cellular data. It also fixes issues such as "video distortion when pausing videos in Safari and Photos" and "some users lose cellular data when customizing APN settings." According to some users who have upgraded to iOS 9.0.1, the system experience is smoother than before compared to iOS 9.

The following are the contents of this upgrade:

  • Fixed an issue where some users were unable to complete the setup assistant after updating;

  • Fixed an issue where the alarm and timer may not sometimes be prompted;

  • Fixed an issue where pausing a video in Safari and Photos could cause the pause frame to display distorted.

  • Fixed an issue where some users who used custom APN settings through a certain profile would lose cellular data.

  • While releasing the iOS 9.0.1 system update, Apple also began to provide the second version of the iOS 9.1 beta system to developers.
