Android 6.0 will be pushed next week, with a lot of new features

Google confirmed at last night's new product launch that Android 6.0 will be pushed next week, expected to be October 5. Android 6.0, also known as Android Marshmallow, has better camera and battery functions, improved fingerprint sensors, and a new permission model that allows for seamless application installation and update processes. Android M also supports USB type-C. Another little-known feature is that it improves the safety factor for business users and IT managers.

For more detailed features and push content, please see here.

Android 6.0 introduced the "Doze" mode, which puts apps to sleep when the phone has not detected movement for a while. When the screen is off, the average battery life is 30% longer.

Marshmallow has a new feature that separates work and personal apps/services, which are usually add-ons provided by phone manufacturers. This new feature is called containerization, which is very important for business workers who cannot share sensitive information through personal email or other means. For users, putting personal photos and personal information in a separate space will make it easier to manage and protect, especially for workers who need to hand in their phones for some reason.

Android 6.0 will be pushed to Nexus 5, 6, 7 and 9 next week, but according to foreign media reports, Nexus 4, Nexus 7 (2012) and Nexus 10 cannot be upgraded to Android 6.0 yet.
