Ubuntu Make new version is online: support for installing Swift programming language

The UbuCon Summit 2016 has come to an end, and many Ubuntu developers have returned to work to continue their great development journey. According to foreign media SoftPedia, developer Didier Roche released a new version of the Ubuntu Make tool today. In the latest version 16.01.2, many new features have been added, such as support for Apple's open source Swift programming language, which can be easily installed on the Ubuntu Linux operating system using the "umake swift" command.

"I was very proud to announce the new Ubuntu Make version at UbuCon last week in sunny Pasadena," said Roche. "The tool has reached milestone 16.01.2, and this release was made possible thanks to three new supporting frameworks from the community."

Ubuntu Make is a command-line application that you can get by running commands in the Terminal application in Ubuntu 15.10 (Wily Werewolf), Ubuntu 15.04 (Vivid Vervet) and Ubuntu 14.04 LTS (Trusty Tahr). Ubuntu Make is also included in the default software repository of Ubuntu 16.04 LTS (Xenial Xerus).

sudo apt-add-repository ppa:ubuntu-desktop/ubuntu-make
