Android Unified Push Alliance list released: Google participates as an observer

According to a report on December 11, the Unified Push Alliance was established in Beijing on October 16. The conference was hosted by the China Academy of Information and Communications Technology Terminal Laboratory under the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, and invited representatives from 75 companies including Huawei, OPPO, vivo, Xiaomi, Samsung, Meizu, Gionee, nubia, Google, Baidu, Alibaba, Tencent, JD.com, Meituan, Ping An Technology, Getui, and Jiguang to attend. According to the China Telecommunication Technology Laboratory, the "Android Unified Push Alliance" will work with multiple Android ecosystem manufacturers to develop unified push service (UPS) technical standards.

Today, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology officially launched the official website of the Unified Push Alliance, and the list of alliance members was also announced on the official website. Among them, the China Academy of Information and Communications Technology serves as the chairman, and the vice chairmen include Huawei, Xiaomi, OPPO, vivo, Alibaba, Baidu, Tencent and Getui. The directors include companies such as Meizu, Nubia, and Lenovo. It is worth noting that Google is listed in the list of member companies. However, it is not clear what specific work the observer seat in brackets will participate in.

Due to the lack of GCM, domestic Android applications have long had to either use their own push system or adopt the system of a third-party service provider. Xiaomi, Meizu and other manufacturers have also made efforts to this end, such as MIUI's "aligned wake-up mechanism" and Mi Push, but they still cannot fundamentally solve the chaotic push situation of the domestic Android system.
