“Justice League” that can save Android devices from lag is here!

The "Android Unified Push Alliance", which has been hotly discussed in the domestic Android circle, was officially established on October 16 this year.

After all, it was created to save the chaotic Android message push environment in China, so everyone wants to know which manufacturers will join the alliance.

Yesterday, the league finally announced its full membership list.

The words are a bit small, so I will summarize it for you.

The chairman of the board is: China Academy of Information and Communications Technology.

The vice presidents are all big names we are familiar with: Huawei, Xiaomi, OPPO, vivo, Alibaba, Baidu, Tencent, and Getui.

Getui is a relatively unfamiliar company that provides message push services.

The directors include: Meizu, Nubia, Lenovo, JD.com, Meituan and other companies.

There are too many member units, including all the major domestic mobile phone manufacturers and software service companies.

Maybe some friends still don’t quite understand what this alliance is and what its role is. Ding Shao will explain it to you today——

What exactly is the “Android Unified Push Alliance”?

We all know what “push” is. When we put our phones aside, the software will actively push messages to us.

Whether it is today's x news, new updates from x blog followers, messages from WeChat friends, or Taobao's delivery reminders, these are all push notifications.

Have you ever thought about a question?

We didn't open these software, and some of them were cleared from the background. How were these messages pushed to my phone?

If you are an iPhone user, it is very simple. Apple has opened a special channel for software on the iPhone, called APNs (Apple Push Notification Service).

Any software that wants to push messages will be sent to Apple's server, and Apple's server will then tell the user's device: what software A pushed, what software B pushed...

The advantage of this method is that APNs is an iOS system-level service that is stable, power-saving, and memory-saving.

Android is a bit tricky. The previous practice was that each software would stay in the background, and the software would push any messages it wanted.

Later, everyone found that this could not handle the memory and power consumption, so they started to kill the background processes.

Software manufacturers are more cunning than others. They cunningly leave their own push service in the background. You can kill the software but you cannot kill the push service.

Some domestic family buckets will adopt the strategy of "wake up one, revive the whole family", in short, it is hard to guard against.

So most of the reasons why people think Android phones are slow are due to this.

Why doesn't Google, the company behind Android, do anything about it?

Hey, this is interesting, Google actually manages it... Google has launched a service similar to Apple APNs——

GCM (Google Cloud Messaging) has now been upgraded to FCM (Firebase Cloud Messaging).

This service is the same as Apple's, and can also be pushed uniformly.

But why don’t we use it?

Why not? Don’t you have any idea in your mind?

Therefore, we can only let domestic software vendors wreak havoc on our mobile phones for the sake of KPI.

Then, the development of things came to the second stage——

Mobile phone manufacturers provide their own push services

When software vendors mess around like this, not only will users be unhappy, but mobile phone manufacturers will also be unhappy.

If you make the system so laggy, users will complain that their phones are crappy.

Therefore, several powerful domestic mobile phone manufacturers have launched their own push services.

The most representative one is Xiaomi's MiPush (Huawei and Meizu also have their own Push).

There are already so many software that support MiPush:

Look carefully, and you'll find a big cancer not in there.

MiPush is good, but why should only Xiaomi users enjoy this service?

So things came to the third stage.

Android Unified Push Alliance is born

The Ministry of Industry and Information Technology was very saddened by the current chaotic Android ecosystem and decided to change this situation.

Therefore, the China Academy of Information and Communications Technology Telecommunication Technology Laboratories, a subsidiary of the company, announced in July this year that it would establish such a unified push alliance.

With the leadership from above, everyone of course responded, leading to today's progress.

To be honest, no matter how you evaluate the pros and cons of this alliance, it is good news for us Android users.

Let everyone use one push notification to save mobile phone resources and reduce power consumption.

But Google is a little confused... "Who is the father of Android?"

But fortunately, Google is still on the alliance list, see:

Observer…interesting, interesting.
