WeChat mini-programs can now jump to mobile apps

WeChat announced today that it has opened the function of jumping from mini-programs to mobile apps. Specifically, this function is an extension of Tencent's previously opened "share app links to WeChat". After users open WeChat through an app and jump directly to the mini-program page, WeChat will allow users to directly open the source app on the mini-program page. WeChat also emphasized that this function does not support other paths for the time being. If you want to use mini-programs to divert app traffic or if you plan to make a mini-program to recommend an app, it is still impossible to do so at present.

In fact, the logic of this feature is very similar to the "return to previous app" feature that Apple added starting from iOS 9. When users jump from one app to another, they can directly return to the source app through the link in the upper left corner of the screen.

In addition, WeChat has added the function of customizing the color style of the mini-program menu bar for developers. Developers can also change the design of the mini-program title bar area according to the style of the mini-program itself.

Mini Programs seem to be a key project of WeChat in the first half of this year, and they will further expand its offline application scope. WeChat has just opened up Wi-Fi and NFC connection capabilities for Mini Programs not long ago. Mobile phones with NFC functions will be able to use WeChat Mini Programs to swipe subway tickets directly.
