After leaving the company, former Huawei employee Li Hongyuan was charged with extortion. After being detained for 251 days, he was released due to unclear facts and insufficient evidence. Recently, Li Hongyuan accepted interviews from multiple media outlets and expressed his personal demands. In response, Huawei responded today: Huawei has the right and obligation to report suspected illegal acts to judicial authorities based on facts.

We respect the decisions of judicial organs, including the police, procuratorate and courts.

If Li Hongyuan believes that his rights and interests have been infringed, we support him in using legal weapons to safeguard his rights and interests, including suing Huawei. This also reflects the spirit of the rule of law that everyone is equal before the law.
