WeChat launches "Medical Insurance Electronic Certificate": One code for seeing a doctor and buying medicine

On January 13, Tencent announced that the "Medical Insurance Electronic Certificate" was launched. Medical insurance payment, medical insurance inquiry, medical insurance drug purchase, medical insurance registration... all can be done with one code, and nothing will be a problem.

Tencent introduced that the medical insurance electronic certificate is the only identity certificate for national medical insurance online business, which is issued uniformly by the national medical insurance information platform. With it, one code can be used for access in all medical insurance business scenarios.

After the release of the national medical insurance electronic certificate, Guangdong Province, as one of the first pilot provinces, entered the trial operation stage. Recently, the Guangdong Provincial Medical Insurance Electronic Certificate has been fully launched, which means that 107 million insured users in Guangdong can use WeChat to seek medical treatment without a card.

At present, there are 8 cities in Guangdong Province, including Guangzhou, Shenzhen, and Dongguan, which have piloted the system, with more than 10,000 designated medical institutions and pharmacies online. It is expected that around June 2020, Guangdong will fully implement the scanning of medical insurance electronic certificates and mobile payment applications.

In addition to some cities in Guangdong, electronic medical insurance certificates are currently being piloted in Fujian, Shandong, Hebei, Jilin, Heilongjiang and other provinces, and will be gradually promoted nationwide in the future.

You can activate and use it through the National Medical Insurance App or WeChat official account "My Medical Insurance". After successful activation, the next time you go to the hospital for treatment or buy medicine at the pharmacy, you can use it through the "Medical Insurance Certificate - Scan Code Payment" menu bar of the "My Medical Insurance" official account, and you can also add it to the WeChat card wallet.
