In 2018, the Unified Push Alliance and its related member units formulated a unified push service technical standard applicable to the Chinese application ecosystem, and promoted domestic mainstream terminal manufacturers to be compatible with this standard in 2019. At present, most domestic Android phone brands support unified push. The Unified Push Alliance was established in October 2017. It is affiliated with the Telecommunications Terminal Industry Association (TAF), receives business guidance from the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, and is domiciled in Beijing. The core mission of the alliance is to explore innovations in the push industry, promote in-depth cooperation among terminal manufacturers, application developers, and third-party service providers, integrate industry resources, promote the formation of a unified push system, create a green environment, reduce conflicts of interest with end users, enhance the overall industry image, reduce the overall industry implementation costs, form a self-discipline-based industry chain collaborative development, and achieve common prosperity of the industry. Recently, the Unified Push Alliance officially released an official interpretation of unified push, explaining to users what unified push will bring to mobile phones. The official explained in detail from the two aspects of function and performance, taking the OPPO Find X2 Pro mobile phone as an example: Functional level: The app can push messages without being in the background The standard provides detailed requirements for system-level push services at the API interface level and functional level. In the Alliance's preliminary tests, OPPO's system-level push service has met the Alliance's requirements, and it can also enable connected applications to receive push messages when they are not active in the background, ensuring that important messages are not missed. At the same time, combined with the system's strict control over application background behavior, the user experience has been greatly improved. Performance level: The standby power consumption of mobile phones is significantly reduced In order to verify the improvement of unified push on mobile phone power consumption, the alliance tested the standby power consumption of OPPO Find X2 Pro. The test prototype was stationed on Beijing Mobile's 4G network, the phone was in the off-screen and silent state, and 30 commonly used apps were installed. The power consumption of the self-built channel of the application and the unified push was compared. The test results show that when the application uses the system-level unified push channel, the standby time from full charge to 85% battery life is 41 hours and 42 minutes; when the application starts automatically in the background and builds its own channel solution, the standby time from full charge to 85% battery life is 29 hours and 7 minutes. The standby time is increased by 43%. In summary, mobile phones that support the unified push standard will have excellent performance in power consumption and data communication performance. At the same time, the merging of underlying long connections and the implementation of unified push services will help promote unified access to apps, greatly reduce the possibility of apps staying in the background, and reduce the possibility of system freezes. In addition, the Unified Push Alliance stated that in order to continuously optimize the data communication performance of mobile phones under weak or even no data network conditions, domestic mobile phone manufacturers are conducting in-depth docking and joint debugging tests with the alliance on the "Tuibida" technology. In the future, "Tuibida" will further reduce the standby power consumption of mobile phones as a supplement and deep integration of the unified push solution, and ensure that push messages are 100% reliable. In 2019, the Unified Push Alliance promoted domestic mainstream terminal manufacturers to be compatible with this standard. At present, most domestic Android phone brands support unified push. |
