In one year, the number of registered HMS (Huawei Mobile Services) developers worldwide reached 1.8 million, and more than 96,000 applications were integrated with HMS Core, more than doubling compared to last year's developer conference. These are the data revealed by Huawei at this HDC. Why has HMS been able to win the favor of such a large number of developers so quickly? How do HMS and HarmonyOS develop hand in hand? What has HMS done to help developers successfully go overseas? These questions were shared in detail by Wang Yue, Director of HMS Core Platform Department of Huawei Consumer Business Cloud Service, and Zhang Haibei, Marketing Director of Huawei Consumer Business Cloud Service, in an interview with the media after the conference.
HMS wins the favor of developers with its advantages in technology, ecology and services Wang Yue said that the reason why HMS was able to win the favor of such a large number of developers so quickly is because of Huawei's unique advantages in technology, ecology and services. Technology: Huawei has a wide range of business areas and provides services all over the world. It is a company that covers everything from devices to cloud, network, and pipelines. Therefore, it can open up a lot of capabilities to continue to build the HMS ecosystem. For example, in the field of artificial intelligence, the powerful "2012 Laboratory" is a strong backing for opening up capabilities and contributing technical strength. Ecosystem and Services: Huawei has invested thousands of engineers in the development of HMS Core capabilities and developer technical service docking to quickly build the foundation of the HMS ecosystem. Huawei is conducting local business in more than 170 countries and regions around the world. There are seven DigiX Lab innovation laboratories around the world, which can get close to developers and work with developers to create high-quality applications needed by local consumers and the most suitable intimate services for them according to the conditions of different regions. Zhang Haibei said that among developers, students and young people who have just graduated are two very large groups. This year, Huawei Developer Alliance launched a series of developer activities for these two groups, attracting them through competitions, giving them more complete guidance, and helping them turn their ideas into reality. The application layer HMS and the technical layer HarmonyOS go hand in hand Wang Yue said that in the future, the share of HarmonyOS will be higher and higher, and every HarmonyOS device will be equipped with HMS applications and services. Consumers use their phones to take photos, view documents, and make calls, but various applications such as video, shopping, taxis, and education will still be needed. As long as the number of devices is large enough, developers will be willing to provide services to these consumers, and the HMS ecosystem will extend to the devices. Of course, HarmonyOS's capabilities will also be opened to HMS Core through Kit, allowing developers to apply a series of capabilities such as distributed capabilities, virtualization, high-speed device connections, security, etc. In the future, the application layer HMS and the technology layer HarmonyOS will work hand in hand to bring the best ecosystem and partners to various terminals, allowing the terminals to bring a good experience to consumers, making HarmonyOS an operating system that consumers think is great, not just an operating system that programmers think is great. Global two-way services bring high-quality applications and services to consumers around the world As China Mobile's overseas application expansion enters the deep water zone, localization barriers such as language conversion, legal compliance, and local promotion have gradually become challenges. Huawei's own global practices and experience can help developers and partners overcome various challenges. Zhang Pingan, President of Huawei Consumer Business Cloud Service, expressed the hope to build the HMS ecosystem into a global ecological platform that does not rely on others. In order to further help developers go overseas smoothly, Huawei launched the "Shining Star Pilot Plan" to encourage and support applications to go global. Relying on Huawei's global experience and capabilities, aggregating the advantages of its partners, and aggregating the capabilities of Huawei and its partners with a more open attitude, we provide services for the three major difficulties in going overseas: "product localization", "local compliance", and "local promotion", helping partners expand their global business and providing more support and assistance to overseas developers. While bringing Chinese application innovation to the world, the HMS ecosystem is also assisting overseas developers to enter China. Like domestic developers, when overseas developers enter the Chinese market, they also face challenges such as customer acquisition, product localization, and policy compliance. Huawei is committed to providing local services including consulting services, listing support services, and marketing services for global applications to enter the Chinese market. In the past, present and future, every developer is Huawei's partner. We grow together with developers, continue to build a trustworthy, fair and open HMS ecosystem, and bring high-quality applications and services to global consumers. |
