Can't turn off pop-up ads? MIIT: Call 12321 to report bad network and spam messages

When we browse the web or use apps in our daily lives, we often encounter various pop-up ads. The close buttons of some pop-up ads are very hidden, and we can easily fall into them if we are not careful, which is very annoying.

On March 1, the State Council Information Office held a press conference on the development of industry and information technology. Xiao Yaqing, Minister of Industry and Information Technology, said at the press conference: "If you encounter bad network and spam information, you can call 12321 to report it."

Xiao Yaqing said that in the process of protecting personal information, those apps that refuse to accept rectification must be resolutely removed from the shelves. At the same time, as a supervisor, we must also improve our technical equipment capabilities, first of all, to be able to detect loopholes in these information protections so that the public can use them with confidence.

For example, it is very difficult to find the “×” in the ads that people don’t like in the APP. So information harassment can be blocked, and if you don’t want to see this ad, it should be very obvious that you can turn it off.

"I have also published a phone number, 12321, the Internet Bad and Spam Information Reporting and Acceptance Center Platform. If there are any problems, everyone can report them. This will also promote our work . Thank you," said Xiao Yaqing.
