Google Android 12 hardware requirements announced: 6GB RAM + 1080p screen recommended

According to news on October 14, Google Android 12's AOSP has been officially released recently, and many manufacturers will start Android 12 system upgrades in the near future.

Today, the CDD compatibility document for Android 12 has been released, defining some hardware information that manufacturers and developers need to know.

(Note: Substandard hardware does not mean that it cannot be upgraded. The document requires manufacturers and developers to perform graded adaptation. Devices with poor performance will lose some of the experience.)

The CDD document of Android 12 introduces the concept of "performance class", which allows developers to query the hardware information of the device and divide the device into different performance levels. For devices with lower performance levels, developers can choose to turn off some functions or reduce some animations so that the device can run smoothly.

The performance level 12 requirements corresponding to Android 12 are:

• At least 6GB RAM
• At least 400dpi and 1080p resolution screen
• At least 120MB/s sequential write, 250MB/s sequential read, 10MB/s random write, and 40MB/s random read speeds
• Must have (at least) a 12MP rear camera capable of recording in 4K 30 FPS
• Must have (at least) a 4MP front-facing camera capable of recording at 1080p 30 FPS

The requirements for the lower performance level 11 are:

• At least 6GB RAM
• At least 400dpi and 1080p resolution screen
• At least 100MB/s sequential write, 200MB/s sequential read, 10MB/s random write, and 25MB/s random read speeds
• Must have (at least) a 12MP rear camera capable of recording in 4K 30 FPS
• Must have (at least) a 4MP front-facing camera capable of recording at 1080p 30 FPS
